Great review of Capitola. I also love the Shadowbrook, I took my girlfriend at the time in 1985 and I had the Scampi for the first time in my life and it was delicious.

Friend of ours, Ted Burke, owns the Shadow Brook. The Capltola Village is flooded every year. During Miami Vice, Heyday, every Friday night we gathered at The Edgewater Night Club for Miami Vice Night. Everyone dressed like the show people, lots of white suits for the guys and sexy dress for the women. Even the Capitola PD, left us alone. It was quite a period!

Someone once recommended "gondolas" in that vicinity and recommended them as a place to take dates. What he described sounded more like ski lifts. Could he have meant the hillevator?
