All old weapons have one thing in common: field ruggedness. You can pull this out of a burning casemate and still quickly remove body parts from an opposing force
In early childhood, I was frightened by the depiction of a cavalry saber fight in Sholokhov's famous novel And Quiet Flows the Don (Тихий Дон) during the Russian Revolution. In the novel, which takes place during the Russian Civil War and World War I, the protagonist, Grigory Melekhov, experiences many horrors of a civil war, including surviving saber wounds. One of these involves a significant injury to the shoulder during a brutal cavalry fight. Thats when I realised that during that period the saber was not a secondary weapon..
is that an antique, or a repro? The british with the D guard is hard to find, seems they all went to Canadian regiments for some reason. The Indian P guards are way more accessible.
I honestly feel bad for anyone who was ever on the receiving end of one of these swords doesn’t matter if it’s a slash or chop you’re getting messed up lol
That was incredible. Both the sword and the technique. I've been cutting for nearly two decades, and it's not common to see someone this in touch with their tool.
How much did the sword cost. I looked it up on windlass steel craft and when i went to want to purchase it took me to another page that said it made museum replicas. So I am eery to purchase from that link. Also it didn’t show a price.
Ordered one of thes yesterday. I have been researching daggers but found most daggers to be a bit to short on the blade. This is the only example I could find thats both long and has a cross guard. I was hoping the length would improve the cutting capability and I guess you proved it right here. 8 years old but still gold!
I have this sword as well and it reminds me a little less like a rapier but more like a wearable spear that can cut someone in half although there are many rapier techniques that can be used with this I’m actually looking into extending the handle so the sword may be used as a wearable glaive and couched in the armpit
Amazing cutting Sir! You make a high level of skill look like it’s just relaxed intent to move the sword swiftly and accurately, like you do it for a living! I know it can’t be that easy, but good job making it look like it is! I am definitely intrigued by this one, to bad I don’t have your ability, but I’m sure I could have fun with a sword like that one way or another! 😂 Great video, review, and cutting! Thank you for your great work. Best wishes to you and your family. ✌️🇺🇸
Subbed. Great presentation. I ordered mine long before I watched this and it’s been late but I’m excited again now after watching you handle the soldat. Great video.
