My brain is full of things related to music. This is my attempt to share what’s on my mind. Music gear reviews, demos, tutorials, DIY, and jams. I love music gear, making music with it, and sharing it with others. I hope you enjoy it too.
I was trying this on my Korg MS20 Mini, a few days ago. Provided I patched the sample & hold into the Total input, it worked fine, but if I patched it into the Frequency input instead, I got nothing. The input does work with the wheel, so this is mysterious, to me. Maybe it's an impedance matching thing? Does the same happen on the K2?
Hi, it sounds like maybe you need to turn up the EG1/EXT knob on the Frequency Modulation, instead of the MG/T.EXT? Total input is normalled to the Modulation Generator. Frequency input is normalled to EG1.
Were the replacement knobs a similar coated type knob? If so they are just going to get sticky again in a short amount of time. Honestly hoping the replacements don't have a coating!
The new ones do have the soft coating as well, but I read in a couple places that they changed the supplier or the manufacturing, so the new ones don't have the same problem. I have to think they fixed it because these knobs are standard on all their hardware, including the high-dollar ones like the PolyBrute 12. I guess we'll see!
Hello, I'm starting my adventure with modular synthesizers. I have a few questions. I asked on Behringer's official Facebook profile but no one bothered to respond. So maybe you can help me. I will be very grateful! - Is Behringer K-2 patch panel Volt/Octave or Hz/Octave? - Will K-2 work with Behringer Neutron and Pro-1? - How many cables can be connected to patch panel inputs/inputs via splitters? Thank you in advance for Your response.
1. Hz/Volt (not Octave) - www.perfectcircuit.com/signal/synthesizer-tuning-standards 2. Yes, for the most part - except you would need converters for the pitch and gate CVs (see #1) 3. Great question! I don't know. I have never found the need to go more than 3 or so and it seems to work fine, but eventually there is a limit per Ohm's Law and such, right? 🙂
Hey, thanks for the great idea - I'll add it to the list! In the meantime, if you look at the Behringer synth section of any online music retailer, you'll get an idea of what my studio is looking more and more like these days. 😅
@@fertilesound_ I also plan to purchase Behringer equipment. I see you use them a lot too and I'm curious about your configuration. What DAW do you use, if any?
If you process the sound through the esp and use esp output instead of regular output you get a good sounding and controllable overdrive. Took me a while to figure it out, though it's a popular trick.
Yeah, absolutely! There are so many options. The way I did it was more of a "send" type routing, where you still hear the original signal but can blend in the overdriven side to taste. But taking the direct out from the ESP is another great trick. Thanks for posting!
I have one of these with a Wasp racked in the RackBrute 6U attached to my Minibrute 2S :) there's a SQ-1 on the side with a Modal SKULPT providing poly synth duties. It's a really fun small setup.
Thanks so much! I have enjoyed your vids on YT and posts on Gearslutz/Gearspace for years. I'm glad you liked the vid and I really appreciate you leaving a comment!
Have you experienced any low output volume with yours? I can barely get a sound wave in my DAW, also I have it plugged into my Roland KC-500 amp which is super loud and I'm barely getting sound out of it
No, sorry to hear that, mine works fine. Keep in mind you have two volume knobs - one for each of the oscillators, and one main volume knob for the whole unit. Beyond that, the envelopes need to be set a certain way or you might not hear a sound. Maybe check out some default settings like this one if you haven't already: www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/behringer-wasp-how-to-create-a-sound/. Good luck!
Yeah, just submit a support ticket. They may ask you to send a video of the knobs to verify. I just had to pay the shipping and they sent me the full replacement set at no charge otherwise.
@@fertilesound_That’s super cool to hear about your replacement knobs. I’d love to get some for my Microbrute. Curious to know how the payment transaction for the shipping cost went. How exactly did they bill you?
I've played played an EDM Wasp original with the touch sensitive keys. The sound and control is very faithful to the original. I'm just waiting for Behringer to recreate the Spider sequencer, also made by EDP at the time
Arturia updated the quality of the knob caps for the OG Brute range a while back and they don’t go sticky anymore. You can purchase a knob cap kit from them, just contact their after-sales dept. And no, they don’t cost 100 bucks. The knob caps you have in front of you aren’t resin coated so won’t go sticky. Nice video by the way 👍🏼
Behringer has been making great recreations of classic synths at decent prices, and as a regular working guy income guy, I appreciate it. Also love the korg volcas. That wasp is awesome, thanks for making synth videos.
Cool channel just subbed first time vids are great. One of these are sitting t my local im watching this kindof convicning myself lol, Salute from Asutralia
Please keep doing this kind of content! It's so great so see somebody discovering something new the first time around that "something". Love the WASP it's a little monster for sure
Most of the demos are made with volume of the oscillators at maximum, and here you don't go above 12h. While things happen above 12h with the saturation of the filter, in the territory where we have "The Kobol sound". with your work on the modulations it is a cool demo, in any way. It could have been cool to see the work of the saturation on the waveform with your little wave viewer. It was one strength of the original kobol, to have a large span of tones, from soft to very fat, and then you play in a different territory than some other demos .
Hey, thanks for watching and thank you for your comments! This was meant to be an unboxing/first impressions/jam video, not really a demo per se, but your point about keeping basic things (like VCO levels) consistent is extremely helpful for future videos! I also noticed after the fact that I had the filter and resonance at 12h while exploring the waveforms, whereas ideally, I would have them in their default positions. All things to note for next time. I'm glad you liked it nonetheless and thanks again for your feedback!
Same thing happened on the CAT from Behringer, I’m clueless why that is but I think it can be fixed easily! Mine is coming next week! I love Sweetwater cause I waited more than 3 months to get it and finally they shipped that out!
