The name of this channel highlights my love for novelty and celebrates the amazing world we live in. I wanted to combine my love of adventure with my love of film making. Adventure and scenery film making is completely different than anything I've done before, so it's going to take a while for me to start putting out higher quality content as I learn the ropes. Please join me as I travel around British Columbia, Canada and pontificate on life, land, and humans.

@@DNF_enduro They should be. We started from the Tyax Adventure Spruce Camp at the north end of Spruce Lake. We headed down the Spruce Lake Main and then turned up the High Trail, and connected to the Taylor Creek Trail to Ridge-o-Rama. If you have Gaia GPS I'd be happy to share my recorded track with you.
@@DNF_enduro Apparently you can no longer message people on YT but here is the sharable link to my track: www.gaiagps.com/public/vrwjBNS91ti6yExGQKt0ANGB
Thank you so much for sharing this, and doing it so respectfully too. I’m heading to Powell river from the Vancouver area for a solo trip and this is just the sneak peak I needed 🙌🏼🤘🏼
Went to Stillwater school as a kid and we use to run down and play at the beach and bluffs at lunch time, sometimes would be quite late getting back to class.
Try 7 to 12 hours from Vancouver. The only short 5 hour is if you only take the first ferry out at horseshoe bay. Powell river people should have priority boarding on the ferries since they are part of our highway. But we get screwed all the time by BC ferry committee and BC Ferries.
Thanks! It takes me a while to put my videos out but I'm learning as I go and I'm trying to do something more than just drone shots and low-fi hip-hop. Trying to touch on the more philosophical side of the call of the wild. Please share with people you think might appreciate it!
@@nomorewasteddays5406 For sure man I definitely will. Also if you don’t have a TikTok I’d recommend it your type of story telling could probably do great.
@@The_Baconator_ I do have one! And instagram. TikTok is of the same name. Instagram is NoMoreWasteDays (only 1 D). But I struggle with doing TikTok videos. The touch-screen editing drives me crazy haha
That sounds awesome. I'm actually over in Powell River right now, but I'm recovering from a broken arm and ankle. So it's going to be a little while before I'm out and about again unfortunately.
ughh, can't finish the video!!.. I, personally, find the narration so over the top and almost funny. LOL.. I came here for suggestions and advise on how to get to San Josef but I guess I'll try somewhere else..
Thanks for the comment Jennifer! I know many people come to RU-vid seeking travel advise and answers to real questions, the how and the where, if you will. I find there are hundreds of thousands of hours of that kind of content online and can be found when needed. I'm aiming to build a channel that is less about the how you get somewhere and more about the why you would want to go there, or in more broad terms, why we go anywhere. It's no secret that venturing into the backcountry isn't very comfortable, so why do so many of us keep doing it? And I'm sure many people will disagree with my personal reasons and have their own reasons for getting out, but I want to explore what it means to me and hopefully inspire others to give it a try, or at least help them understand what reason we would have for getting up at 5:30 on our day off and hiking 1100m of vertical instead of staying at home safe and comfortable. I hope you get to San Josef and find it as magical as we did!
@@nomorewasteddays5406 Awesome!! And I really hope you did not find my comment offensive, or rude as I sure did not intend it to be.. More power to your channel!!
@No More Wasted Days Oh yes, it's really good. I tried making my first few videos on it, but my laptop couldn't handle that software 😅. It kept crashing. Looking forward to more videos from you.
The change in mental focus between being in the damp, tide-battered rock formation passage and standing out in the open, sunny (April) sun can't be overstated. What a powerful place. 9:50
There are approx. 6000 deer living on the island and 0 predators ( bears, wolves, cougars) Also, in Texada's lakes, there are rare species of freshwater stickleback fish which are endemic to the island - a special place indeed
The lack of predators can be good peace of mind, however it doesn't make it any less spooky when you are relieving yourself in the woods at night and there are a dozen glowing eye staring at you haha.
