I was there, the cameraman who filmed was there in our group and getting footage for my own company at the time. He didn't want to film as some people gave him grief about it. I told him to get as much footage as possible to show what went on and what we as sledders know how to treat incidents like this. We never did finish my video. Some of the people in our group never sledded much again after that.
But who does speed runs sitting straight up plowing the wind lol...this guy should know better.

How does the "Kashima Coating" reduce the friction in the shocks when it's on the outside? Gotta love the marketing people being able to feed customers with such BS :D
Great video as usual. A group of us were in West Yellowstone the week after you all were out there for our first time riding in the mountains. I have an ‘18 Sidewinder XTX 141 SE, and my buddy and his wife have a ‘24 Sidewinder LTX GT and a ‘24 Viper GT.
Jeff , your sincerity regarding Yamaha can be felt , I have two Yamaha sleds in the trailer an Apex and a Viper and they will continue to run the trails as long as they can. They will be missed by many. Thanks Yamaha Motor Co.
Hate seeing Yamaha go out. One of my first sleds was s Yamaha SRV. Great sled back in the fay i was 10 years old riding that SRV. Im 45 now been on cats since 2003. Not impressed with the dyno numbers on the 9R 170hp 111fpt. After break in Poo 850’s dyno numbers 163-167hp 105-111fpt. After break in. Catalyst 858 is exciting just hope cats clutching is better than it’s been past few years now. Cats sleds just don’t have any top end besides the thundercat they have that one figured out. Catalyst dyno out before break in at 167hp 111fpt. Really broad power band compared to doo and poos 850’s. Doo 850 dyno out 165-169hp 107-111fpt after break in very powerful engines. Idk if the 9r is worth the extra doe on dyno dont look like it but maybe it feels better riding it idk. All the dyno numbers from dyno tech research. If u love to tinker on sleds like i do or just like dyno numbers for $35 a year definitely worth subscribing. Going to be a exciting year for the 850 class with the new 858 and 9r cant wait till next winter lol!! Far as i know all catalysts seats will be a little softer my opinion is thats a good thing. Great episode Jeff Thanks.
Thank you for another great season of Stv Jeff! Loved every episode.... Hopefully, as we all wish, we will have the snowiest season every! Until next year mon ami!!!
great show Jeff. gonna miss my weekly dose of STV , truly the best sled show ever. if winter returns come on down to Tug Hill and I'll show you the best of it.
Great episode, can't believe its the last one😢 My color combo for the SRX would be white/red.I grew up when Yamaha sleds were white.I urge you to come to Nova Scotia to do an episode on the Cape Breton Highlands, you wouldn't be disappointed. And yes, let's put winter 24' behind us....
Prices are gone nuts … brp is cutting production after a couple of soft winters. Loved Yamaha but they exited the game a ways back and would not go back to 2s before it was too late …still love the 4s sound though.
No Smart Shox? if I understood correctly the Smart Shox offers no manual adjustments. You got 3 modes and if they dont make you happy enough then too bad. Also heard that the stiffest setting the Sport+ is too stiff for the kind of riding this sled was meant for
Love your channel. Especially enjoyed the Woodrunner trail tour. Please try to equalize the music and added sound in your videos. I need to turn it up to hear your voices, then it blasts too loud when the music effects play. Love the content, just a little constructive criticism.
Still 2 years behind POLARIS and DOO---We will see if Cat can hang on and make it a shrinking snowmobile Industry being they have such a small percentage of the Market.
Yeah! I ordered from my dealer a new 858 ZR sno pro 137 inch track and upgraded to the G8 Garmin display. I'm trading in my 2022 ZR RR 8000. After sitting on a 600 Catalyst I was like I have got to have this! It feels so much different! Can't wait! Just hope we get some actual snow next season!!!
