How many updates will there be next season. Blows away the competition far as i know arctic cats still the sled to beat in XC racing. When i raced pro XC 2010-17 Polaris wasn’t even a threat if cat didn’t win it was doo. The thundercat and SRX still the fastest sleds on snow. Not saying Polaris isn’t good stuff specifically the RMK but blows the competition away is pretty strong words. Specially when ski doo and cat both have some great sleds our there. The 9r definitely sounds looks impressive though but we wont really know till next winter i guess lol!!
@@barryconnors-m6s love my cats raced then for 15 years very tough sleds. My father bought doos a few years ago now iv rode his 850 many times great sleds for sure. During my 7 years racing pro XC only 2 sleds capable of winning were doos or cats. Polaris did start coming on around 2016 i retired in 17. Now they have gotten better but for a while Polaris wasn’t a great sled trail or racing. What happened to the pro ride looked ugly and dont see them anymore because they didn’t work. Lol!!
I'd love to hear your thoughts with 129 vs 137 on certain platforms. I always thought 137 was more popular than it should be for trail riding, but curious if this new generation of big power 2 strokes really needs a 137, considering even a modern 600 is traction limited at lower speed and is quick on anything but a lake.
I have to disagree with you. I happen to find Polaris's brake one of the most responsive in the snowmobile industry. I also love the sound lol. This is also coming from a doo guy..
You are definitely in the minority, it is widely agreed in the industry that Polaris has the best brakes (same as Ski-Doo has the best rear suspension and Yamaha makes the most reliable engines). Personally, I love the brake feel and sound on my Polaris.
@@kevindust2712 minority or not, i find the travel way to look and to sloppy and the sound is annoying, first time i rod a Polaris I though it was broken, if you heard a squealing / whining sound coming from your car/truck brakes you would take it in like there was something wrong. I'll take the Doo brake feel any day of the week even if the likes of Snowtrax say it has an on and off feel. It's so much easier for me to burn brakes through a corner then it is on a Poo
I remember the first 9r. Actually 900. The confusion 900 that vibrated and couldn't keep a belt on much past 200 miles. I read Polaris fired 40 engineers after that debacle.
depends on the dealer, my dealer changed up parts to make sled run great, some engines shook some did not, 1 fix was starter ring gear on clutch that helped. 1 tooth less in top gear no more smoked belt
As bad as that and the 700 were the 600 was the complete opposite. Smooth, strong, durable and powerful. Luckily I heard in advance and traded my ‘01 800 XC Edge and got the 600 Fusion IQ. Nice piece
@@mobilewintercamp7515 I had an Edge XC 800 as well, Awesome sled. The 600 Fusion was great sled as well. It's getting the 900 motors to balance, avoid the harmonic distortion that breaks sparkplug insulators, bolts, etc. This is why AC chose to go with an 858.
