Based in Wellington New Zealand, I have been watching TV shows since I was a kid in the 60's, and have always been fascinated with the intros, so thats why I'm here! Enjoy
The problem with the later years of Gunsmoke were the writers of the story lines. I prefer the first 10 years. Something happened when the writers changed. I'm 70 yo and just recently started reruns on PLUTO. the first few seasons are much more interesting. I think the morals and knowing good from bad taught many of us good lessons.
The song to open The Show is part of the great intro. It's very touching too how the kids want Charles in charge of them too.Scott Baio does great roles like this one & Chachi on "Happy Days."
Man for whatever reason I was so hooked on this show that we'd end up recording episodes on a vcr and I'd rewatch these at night just to feel more spooked whenever I look back on the old episodes. Kinda wish there were specific scenes uploaded from this series since there are some I vaguely remember. There was one for the life of me I wanna find the episode of there was one scene where some girl(or guy)was alone and was confronted by a floating ghostly head for maybe a second or two before it cut to commercial. Could've sworn it was from this show.
I was laughing at the typing sound from 0:24, remembering how so futurist it sounded when I was like 7 years old. Was also my best show as my second name is Steve. It was such an ego boost!
Theme songbis fantastic. I never used to pay attention to the words but listening to it with intent, it really is a nostalgia bop for conservatives of the time (not saying that as an insult or bad thing). But it's people not knowing how to process or deal with a changing world wishing for things to go back to the way they were, but ultimately the world moves on.
