It’s funny, I feel like it’s both. Media, branding, flash etc. It’s all adding on top of the grind, the work, sacrifice, frustration, tears. But face it, Jordan learned how to sell a story too. America loved him because (especially at that time in the 80s) he was a young black well spoken southern kid who defied the odds and despite not being good early on was determined and worked really hard. Coupled with really great talent he was phenomenal. He was able to revolutionize the shoe market in a prosperous pro American Raegan time. America shows their appreciation for that. I think along the line these stores catch on and it becomes the main image. People want the image more than they want the behind the scenes, they don’t know one comes after the other. That is not earned, that you should get something coming in. But then again, that’s the excuse of the consumer
initiative roll. passed. (faked succeeded) Attack turn. (move forward left or right and jump shoot) Base attack bonus + attack roll versus difficulty class. (no opposing blocker now, DC = 10? unless you roll a 1 i guess? missing a free shot)
I'm a og at 54 and I remember buying my first ever Nike shoes and they were the original 1985 Jordan 1 Chicago's. This commercial brings back alot of great memories.
Came to watch this commercial in 2024 after Lebron James lost 4-1 to the nuggets and said in a press conference “It’s just basketball.” I miss MJ and Kobe’s mentality.
Maybe you're too young to remember Michael getting his ass whooped in the playoffs or Kobe Bryant struggling to make the playoffs. Maybe you're an idiot. Maybe you're just making excuses because MJs dick in your mouth 30 years?

Last year I was under 18 National Champion. This year I lost in the seniors’ category. Yet, I feel the same, because I know what I did, I know all the effort, the sweat and tears. It is not winning that makes you better, it is the path, and only by losing you can learn this. People don’t treat me the same as last year, but just let it be and ignore them.
The tears of winning the championship are not always the tears of joy. Mostly it's the tears of pride and the tears of "Nobody knows how hard I worked to get this"

You’re gonna work for long periods of time without any result. You’re going to question the point of pursuing futility. And one day, all the results you ever wished for will show themselves, and people will call it an overnight success.
This dude is really yalls hero lol. All these grown men saying they get chills hearing him speak. Stop it fellas. Wake up. Go be great. It’s inside YOU! Lol
