DAILY MEDITATIONS IN THE BOOK OF PSALMS Day 6: Bible Reading : Psalms 26,27,28,29,30) By: Rev. Pastor.C.Peter Chandran,Ph.D., 6th May 2024 Monday Chennai-600 044 The LORD will give strength unto his people; The LORD will bless his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 kjv (The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.Psalm29:11 ampc). Today morning, I read Psalms 26,27,28,29,30 from my Holy Bible. The LORD inspired me the above Bible verse Psalm 29:11. There are two blessings:1. Strength,2. Peace. These are the blessing of the LORD. How did we become the people of the LORD? The Bible says: ‘Who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy”(1.Peter 2:10).”have mercy” means to show kindness and concern for someone in serious need, feel compassion for, have pity. Mercy is not merely a passive emotion, but an active desire to remove the cause of distress in others. STRENGTH: “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength”(Isaiah 40:29).Waiting on the LORD through Prayer and meditating God’s word renews our strength. Daily Bible reading is important in our spiritual life. Our LORD Jesus said:”You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you”.”O LORD, my fortress, my refuge in the day of affliction...”(Jeremiah 16:19). Strength (Oaz); strength, power, security. Verb:”azaz”, “to be firm and strong”. David danced before the LORD with all his strength. PEACE: eirene(eye-ray-nay): A state of rest, quietness and calmness; an absence of strife; tranquility. It generally denotes harmonious relationships between God and men, men and men, nations; and our Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He gives peace to those who call upon Him for personal salvation. He guides our feet into the way of peace. He said:”Peace I leave with you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”(John 14:27). PRAYER: LORD God, thank You for this good day and good health. I receive Your blessing of strength and peace, which are divine empowerment.
