We are Mike and Tina, as of 2023 we are both 75 years old and have been married now for 55 years. Our love is to travel and see new places. We do not make money from our videos. Content is mostly holiday and personal videos of walks, trips & events. I try to do most in 4K. The majority are hand held and just meant as a record of things we do and that may interest others. A lot are from around the Mojacar/Vera Playa/Villaricos/San Juan de los Terreros areas of southern Spain. Also of journeys in our motorhome (Euramobil 810HBL) around Europe and beyond-Scandinavia as far north as you can drive, Nordkapp, and east as far as Didim/Altinkum in Turkey. We spend a lot of time in the Almeria region of Spain and also in and around the Kettering area of Northamptonshire, England. Since our 50th Wedding Anniversary cruise, which was our first, we have started taking at least one a year, if we can find a good price that is, as we are retired and certainly not rich
Thanks for the nice comment. We stayed at the Pueblo Indalo back in 1986. The pools have all changed now but everything else looks pretty much the same. The restaurants and holiday complexes have taken over the seafront since then though.
Enjoyed a personal record day out in Mojacar! 🌞 Market day added an exciting vibe, and wandering through the pueblo on a sunny April afternoon was delightful despite the occasional wind. 😊 Had a funny mishap with the camera too - accidentally set it to 'Time Warp' instead of regular video, but hey, it's all part of the adventure! 📷 Looking forward to sharing more of our three-month Spanish journey with you all! 🇪🇸
Well, it's out of season September 21st but also, I try not to video people without clothes as they tend to get very angry, presumably thinking we are perverts I suppose. June July and August would be packed, but way too hot for us then, we head to cooler climes.
Fascinating as one thinking of moving to the area. A brilliant account/nice video. Do you happen to recall how basements in the village of Villaricos were affected? We were nearer Malaga then and didn't get the same rains!
Thank you for this, was the kettle in the standard cabin yes? I love my tea also :-) The TV in the room did it have movies running all the time or what was available on the TV? thanks!
Hi Clair, the kettle is a travel kettle that we always take away with us if in car or motorhome, had it for so many years it's probably antique now, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the standard cabins, although I believe there is in the "Commadore" class of cabins. For the TV, there is live UK TV showing and I think also films to choose from but, we only watched a little UK TV news ourselves before bed. Definitely recommend having a travel kettle, very cheap & don't take a huge amount of space.
Booked this crossing in September and am here to check out the tea/coffee facilities in the std cabin !! Will bring along my mini travel one, on board for 2 nights, club access already sold out when I booked, need a constant supply of tea haha Thanks for posting… did you eat in either of the restaurants on board ? Wonder how the quality is … only fine done cross channel Brittany Ferries before which were ok but much bigger ships I think.
Hi Ive traveled twice recently. Once on the Salamanca to Santander from Portsmouth. Once to Bilbao on the Santona from Portsmouth. Both ships are very similar, practically the same. I borrowed a mug from the Cafe restaurant on my first crossing. Second crossing I brought my own. Also, the bin in the room doesn't have a bag in it. A container for used tea bags is helpful therefore. The Azul restaurant is of a high standard and worth it. Not cheap and reservations necessary. Eat early is my tip, later seating have long queues. The Cafe restaurant is fine. Reasonably priced. There are microwaves in the bar area and Cafe. You could bring something and heat it up. We did that on our second crossing. The bar and gift shop also sell fruit, crisps, sandwiches etc.
Its a great channel you have here Mike and Tina. We've really enjoyed watching your videos, and will be exploring more of them now and in the future, so we've hit your subscribe button and look forward to seeing where your travels take you next 👍
Thank you again. In 5 weeks time we're off to Miami to do a cruise on Norwegian Encore through the Panama canal and ending in Seattle. Then flying back down to LA to visit my sister who will be 80 the day we arrive; and she knows nothing about it.
Stunning scenery you captured of your early morning sail in to Stavanger, and your explore of the town. And what a lovely town it was to take a stroll around. A really nice video guys. A pleasure to watch.
Thanks, & yes we enjoyed Stavanger too. Must say for Norway we were really lucky with the weather. Spent a few months there in our motorhome & hardly saw the sun.
The weather is a gamble for Norway travel, but worth any sacrifice to explore such a beautiful country. July in our cruise was a mix of misty mornings followed by Mediterranean afternoons.....both equally magnificent though. @@MikeandTinasTravels
That gorgeous sunshine made this a real joy to watch. We are increasingly curious to see videos like yours about modern ferries and where they travel to, so this was interesting to watch. Good to see the tradition of the travel kettle making an appearance 😃 👍
Thank you, glad you liked it. We did a similar video on the Galicia about 2 years ago. Yes the sunshine for end of January was amazing, and that travel kettle has been going everywhere with us for over 40 years now.
Dude that was a proper racist comment at the end of your video. If you want to just see white fcaes maybe you should go to Margate or something. You went on a ship to go to the Carrabean non white coubntries. Have a word with yourself!!!
Only just seen your comment. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I quite liked the fact that we were the only white faces & couldn't understand why other people from the ship didn't venture into the town. We love seeing the real places & not just the touristy bits.
Information for future tourists. Be careful, cameras in the car are illegal in Spain, unfortunately. If you have a permanent one built in, it should be closed.
I watched your RU-vid channel Very nice videos on your channel, I have watched all your uploaded videos and noticed all the videos are nice. But there is a small problem. Your video uploads have to do some work like (SEO) and help in getting future video views. You are working so hard just to get views, now if the views don't come then your hard work is useless. All video SEO does, you will see that your video views will come. I can help if you want. Thank you, have a nice day.
@@MikeandTinasTravels I'm not asking you to make money, I'm asking you to point out the problems with your videos, I'm asking you to fix the problems your videos have. Because you make videos hard so that your videos views low.You must go to see more people and increase your views. I hope you understand
I hope you do well. I checked out your RU-vid channel and your content is amazing! but, Your video should rank But your video has no SEO 100% SEO has 0% SEO
Hey'' I just watched your video and I must say that really nice video, love it. but your videos are not SEO and optimized. Due to which your video views are very less and your videos do not rank. I was wondering I could help you SEO and Promotion your video
great video mike n tina that 72 plate was from september 2022 changed in march to 23 plate now on 73 plate at momment in germany looking at big RVs at centurion motor home liked 1 we seen 4 berth and a garage under neath to put a car in when its parked up the body lifts up and slides out to get car out but at the time it is 1mill euros
Hi Vernon, yes soon be a 24 plate, the years fly by. I liked our 30ft motorhome, used the garage for storage & had a scooter on an electric rack on the back, sold it now as have to keep doing medicals etc etc. Bought a new one in 2001 at Dusseldorf Messe. Those big ones with the cars are lovely but you're limited to where you can go with them, too much money as well unless the lottery comes up. Quite like the idea of a smaller 5th wheeler, but hard to find. Two more weeks in Spain then back to the UK for a few months. Take care.
Fabulous weather again for you both. The area you went to for Tina’s birthday looked lovely. That’s a big job taking place on the Mojacar/Garrucha junction, more money invested in the area is always a positive thing. We are over for Christmas, looking forward to seeing the changes in the area. Take Care
Thanks Clare. We always try to get away somewhere different for Tina's birthday, and yes it was nice. Weather was pretty warm, although it's just started to cool off a little now. Yes the work going on in Garrucha will be interesting to see, looking forward to it. Hope you have a lovely time when you're here. You take care too.
good video again mike im surprised you have not got a motorhome as well be easy getting atound spain and your hotel is with you my latest is from benimar made in spain cost me 56000 eiros 4 berth
Hi Vernon, Well we started with motorhomes in 1992 with a 2yr old Elddis Autoquest 400. Then in 2001 bought a new Challenger with garage & bed above, and finally in 2009 we bought a 2006 tag axle Euramobil hbl A class again with a big garage which we used for storage & put the scooter on the back. Been all round Scandinavia as far north as you can drive. Spent 3 months going to Turkey in it then 3 months there before carrying on round Europe. Sold it about 2 years ago now but are thinking of getting another. Itchy feet again.
@@MikeandTinasTravels cheaper to get in spain as you cannot get new ones on LHD mine came from benimar as it was dealer stock got 4 berth but only 2 of us use it
@@BIGV710 Our Challenger was bought new at the Dusseldorf Messe motorhome show, we wanted LHD as we spent more time abroad than UK. Next one won't be new though, too expensive now & need money for other things, a motorbike for me to start.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We always like going back to that area as it was one of our regular places when we were younger. Tend to spend more time abroad than UK these days.
@@MikeandTinasTravels Funny how that works. We spend more time abroad than in the US, but 2 months of our abroad time this year was in the UK. And we loved it so much, we're planning to head back next year. It must be in the "grass is always greener" category...
@@tomm5228 Yes, San Juan de los Terreros is good too. Playa la Carolina is our daughter's favourite, that one & Playa la Higuerica just around the bend is very popular with motorhomes.
Hi, lovely to follow the route we normally cycle. We haven’t been down the costal Road for some months now, shocked to see another roundabout and diversion between Mojacar & Garrucha. Although good to see a lot more investment in Garrucha, one of our favourite places. Most of all, what a beautiful blue sky. Take Care.
Thank you Clare, Yes we knew they were going to be doing the new park and paseo at Garrucha, but still surprised as we came upon the diversions. Again didn't realise that they were going to erect a building at the bus station, although suppose it makes sense. There's also a big flyover well on the way, on the road from Garrucha to Los Gallardos
Hi, yes, we were out and about yesterday and there were lots of people enjoying the playa without clothes. I try not to include in the videos as some people get quite upset. If you watched one of the Vera playa vid's after the rains there was a man in the background I hadn't noticed at the time. But yes, that's what Vera Playa is all about, when it's warm enough.
Yes, Normally quite hot by then. Always the slight risk of a storm, but usually between very warm and hot. June is very hot, but July and August and beginning of September are just way too hot for us@@garymcniven4101
Hi mike&Tina again ,I have booked the playa club Hotel for 10 days in May,iß it busy in May and is it really a 4star hotel?would love some feedback before I go ,thankyou gary
Lovely to see you down in Devon, it looked cold to start although you still managed to see so many places. We were down in Torbay last weekend to see my Dad, it was a little chilly than normal, thankfully the sea was warm. I think we all prefer the sunshine in Spain. Best Wishes.
Thanks Clare. Yes you're right about the sun in Spain, so long as it's not too hot. We'll be back there a week on Sunday, through 'til November if all goes well. The sea should be near perfect temperature. Have fun with your cycling.
Hi, I'm sorry but neither of us can remember the cost. If we were doing the videos to make money from I'd probably keep records. I'm guessing it would have been around the £8 to £10 mark. We used the shuttle into Hamburg, although you can wak via the tunnel under the river, a bit of a trek though. We also used the shuttle to Blankenburg when we went to Bruges on the train which we did on our own, that was very cheap. There was not a lot at Le Havre, we just walked off the ship. Honfleur across the river is a lovely place well worth a visit, but we had been there many times before in our motorhome.
I have a huge desire to take a break in Vera Playa next June or July; really looking forward to walking that amazing beach nude at the height of summer.
