There are some problems: - Prizing is very lackluster even for the current limitations (no cash) they have. Full arts or alt arts of already accesible staples would do wonders ---------- - Product is poorly designed rarity wise. Everything good is only accesible in. Ahigh rarity which presents two issues: 1) They have to make a longer life cycle so they can reprint it and give players that bought it play time with it. 2) Increases access barrier to top meta 3) Screws players that bought the top meta because they haave to reprint the cards faster so they can hit them faster. Is not healthy for people that buys product to keep screwing them, that's why i stopped buying ygo cards. Is not healthy to keep a stale meta either -------- Design wise: 1 card decks is an issue as they have modern and compact engines that allow extreme.optimization, thus, centralizing metas. If snake eyes get dealt with, we have two more decks with those traits ready to dominate the game.
Nah my yugioh players. Take care of ya self. You don’t have to stress yourself over your card choices. I get that it’s fun to sit all day and play but cmon man 😂
there’s too many summoning methods and rules, I liked the animes, but I’m completely lost as to how to even play in real life, the game has gotten confusing, I think even the king of games yugi himself might have quit yugioh too
Tbh I used to enjoy the irl card game but nowadays I exclusively play master duel. Less expensive if you do it right and any card is easy to get by dismantling unneeded cards.
Konami allowing solid colors that aren't licensed and only art by Konami mates alot of sense it's just like they say less work for them and their judges. At a tournament we go for more than showing what sleeves and mates we brought so that's not a big deal. Showing those things off is more for locals not a official tournament. Plus instead of trying to fight this ruling why not push a idea? Sense Konami wants only art by them on mates and sleeves why not push for a way for us fans so send requests more mates and sleeves for archetypes that we want. Maybe Konami can hire or buy a custom mate company that makes good Yu-Gi-Oh mates already that are age appropriate for tournaments and they could fill in the gap and do orders per person instead of us waiting years for Konami to finally get to a less popular archetype. This would allow it to be a licensed mate /sleeves and custom made ya it socks for other mate and sleeves companies BUT who says they can't get a contract too and both parties benefit while the community gets nice mates with less of the age inappropriate stuff.
I just dreamed of Yugioh. It was featured match between a Top player VS normal player. That was soo good. It was entertaining because pro players has his name to defend and normal player has chance to win against pro player. This mode should be definitely in YCS tournaments.
Can't they just flip their mat over to their solid black backside? If its only official merch sleeves and mats then its ko-money up to their usually tricks.
It sounds like they're using this tournament as a first step to see how people respond, and then, hopefully, they'll edit the concept in ways that will negotiate and make it better received.
The Lorcana prizing you listed isn't even right and it's already ridiculously more than YGO. The Rapunzel and Cinderella versions you looked up were the non-foil ones you could obtain from side events. The foil versions of Rapunzel for example are incredibly hard to find and you'll see them listed at at least 5-6K, but up to 12K. The Brave Little Taylor you show was also a different promo. The one handed out to Top8 is serialised, and people are asking 50K+ for it (there's a listing of a Grade 10 for 250K at the moment). Of course the market may stabilise and in the short term these will likely go down, but long term they will probably be very valuable
The Snake-Eye archetype is ruining the game. Across OCG, TCG, and Master Duel. Konami should be embarrassed of themselves for destroying their game like this. Meanwhile people are wondering so many players are quitting the game for good, and going to other card games. Both pros and casuals alike.
I quit the game for magic a year ago because of crap like this and the meta nonsense. Also game flow is better im not sitting there while my opponents play their entire decks. Its cheaper to play commander too. Probably never gonna play yugioh again .
At this juncture, Konami may need to start making hard locks more of a thing on newer decks they print going forward, especially the more potent decks. I don't mean weak locks like you can't Summon X while Y is on the field (Links invalidate that with their mechanics, as seen with Promethean Princess and Sharvara) or you can only Summon X for the rest of this turn (you can just make a bunch of plays beforehand). But given that they didn't put any meaningful restrictions on the Fiendsmith cards (here's hoping Snake-Eye still isn't at full power when that shows up), I have my doubts they'll do this anytime soon.
Prizing isnt "better" in one piece and lorcana just because the cards/playmats are selling for more secondary market, that has nothing to do with the actual game creators and people who distribute the prizings. The prize cards cost companies less to print, secondary market prices are subject to any kind of change and ebay "listings" aren't real value, for example, $6000 cinderella playmat and top 32 YCS playmat are both rubber, both cost the creators probably the same to make, the only difference is secondary market which is dictated by nothing other than demand and hype, for lorcana especially its mostly hype. YGO prizing isn't bad objectively and if they just made special versions of format playables yall would stop crying because that's what the secondary market wants, even then people wouls still complain because power creep would make said playables unplayable too quickly, not every lorcana prize card can be $1000+ it's going to kill the collectible market if the secondary market doesn't change and it will change after a few years
People are ignoring the fact that hand traps are the problem because of how many of them there are. There is 3 versions of veiler that just say "negate opponent's monster". Hand traps themsleves aren't inherently a problem but when you can run over 12 of them it just becomes ridiculous. They also arent just there to "help the going 2nd player", they are additional disruptions when you go 1st. Every argument i see to not address the issue of hand traps is the same as i see from people defending maxx "c" but Joshua Schmidt defended hand traps which means its TOTALLY different from maxx "c" defenders.
UMR ash though + reprints in the mega tins coming up! you better be prepared for a long ride :D the most hilarious side effect of this however is tearlaments fans come out of the woodwork saying "SEE? this tier 0 format sucks and ishizu tear was a much more skillful format! all hail kitkallos!". like stfu "who makes dweller first" wasn't fun
Anyone with half a brain saw this coming a mile away. The problem is way too many people got hyped about “WOOHOO Barrone finally banned!” that they failed to realize A) SE got ZERO hits on the archetype themselves. It’s still full power unlike OCG or MD B) You traded two omni negate monsters for two flood monsters C) Linkuriboh banned would do fuck all 2/10 score for this banlist. Cool they banned generic omni-negate, but that does fuck all for the meta when SE can easily just replace Barrone with Dis Pater lol.
