Easy work these days, back in the day done it all by hand, that and shark fishing, scalloping, drop lining and deep sea trawling. Boats are much more comfortable and work friendlier nowadays, not to mention bigger!
Hi, specs (maybe walk thru) on the boats you ride would be good, size, draft, material, thickness, power, electronics, etc. Monohull seems the standard with commercial fishing boats, cat hulls are around, do you have any experience on both to compare ride handling/comfort in those swells, incl ali vs glass?
any chance that the ones being tossed back are being damaged or knocking off eggs because of that violent toss? the ones that are being kept are certainly treated much more gently.
did 3 months july october, down there in a similar vessel to yours 2 man crew 50 pots earnt only a bit of spending money no take home cash , lots of crays nearly all undersize and bloody cold for this nsw north coaster lol
