Should the brake fluid reservoir cap be open or air tight when bleeding the valve and should the extra brake fluid in the bottle with pipe attached be above or below the bleeder valve? Does it matter or make a difference?
Igaühe jaoks on keegi.
I have Allroad 2.5TDI and A6 1.9TDI 130PD. Allroad is 2-3 times more expensive then A6 on maintenance/repairs, can't compare comfort Allroad is much better but A6 after remap is bit faster. After 3 years with 2.5TDI I change timing belt, tensioners, fan belt , fuel hoses, MAS, temperature sensor, set up fuel pump witch been changed by previous owner, cams are original, car have bit over 260k km drink 8l/100km during calm drive. Be nice to engine invest to maintenance and will run for long time.
The main problem is poor maintenance because it is expensive. Before this Allroad I drove a 2.5tdi A6 for years with no problems and I had no idea what these people were talking about. With this car.. well I had to change the IP to a used one, I also changed the internal tank pump to a newer model (2004) that actually pumps fuel to the IP. Belts and rollers are all replaced. Another problem is the air suspension, which I replaced with new ones. Yes, as I've heard, there are also problems with the camshafts... luckily for me, not yet. Now that I think about it, the newer audis and bmws have a timing chain behind the engine ... so this 2.5tdi is even surprisingly pleasant :D
Point taken! Silicone is neutral for rubber, cheap, multi-purpose, etc., so I use it for DIY jobs. Of course there should be some kind of special grease for it like you said, but I don't deal with it everyday. Some DIY brake jobs RU-vid videos even recommend applying brake oil on the seals. In my experience this affects the rubber and stretches the seal - this is something I don't recommend. After all, I don't think these cars was designed to last 20+ years, but they still drive :)
Yes, it's great car. :D I think i was lucky. :D Didn't crash into a tree or something. Everything was fine except broken front tires that i found out after i was pulled out.
