I wish Pilot and others would make a fancy cartridge of high quality clear plastic like the Con-40 or Con-70 that we could syringe refill. These would look great in demonstrator pens.

It's always the pens you can't get now. The violet is real pretty. Ode, since you love these pens. I need your advice. I like the Kaweco's except the grooves at the grip section, they cut into my fingers with the Sport. Can you tell me which pen that has a longer grip section that would not cut into my middle finger when writing. Right now I am using Washi tape wrapped around them to cut down on that. Maybe the Original or D2 would work? I like to eye dropper the non-metal pens. Or any other Kaweco that comes to mind.

Never thought I would say this, but I prefer my Jinhao over the new Parker 51. Not the vintage one, which I own also and been writing with her for over 30 years now, but the Jinhao is a better writer than the new Parker 51, and the price is an obvious advantage. I actually own now 3 Jinhao 86 (the version with a smooth cap) and 3 Jinhao 85, every one of them with black, blue and red barrels (My favorite colors), and all of them together didn´t cost me the price for I payed for the new Parker 51. Even better is a Wing Sung 601. It´s also a Parker 51 inspired fountain pen, but with a sliding cap, I really dislike all the turns to uncap my new Parker, a piston filling system and a ink window much in the style of the Montblanc 149 ink window.

An unfortunate name to American ears, as it rhymes with ketchup. Not very classy. Kaweco used to make a beautiful, larger sketch pencil in black resin, but I can no longer find it on the market.

Why does this seem so much nicer than the 2021 edition? Edit: That said i think i can see why you're selling it. The cartridge converter is nice (durable + convinient and you can use cartridges if you prefer) but it's still got drawbacks compared to the original versions. Less good plastic and smaller gem which seems like an odd choice. A blind cap to access the converter would have been cool though! Missed opportunity.

When I was a kid the most common type of pens sac fillers, I found they got a better fill if I removed the metal cover and just twisted the aur out of the tube, so you just need a tube that can go around the feed and is sealed on the other end, plastics might be damaging though so you could get a glass blower to make a tube that just fits the dimensions and refill with a syringe, you dont even need to send them the pen just the dimensions

Paulo, thanks for doing this FNPT. And for sharing with us all by talking about some of the bad luck, troubles and sorrows in your life over the last 2 years and more. My sincere condolences for the passing of your late, loved mother and your irreplaceable loss. Losing a parent or a sibling can be indescribably painful. I’m hoping and praying that you can once again find some peace, strength and happiness in your life, from now onwards., with or without your YT channel. Ok, to your topics. Like you, my relationship with and love for fountain pens goes back a very long way. I never left or came back to FPs; I stayed with them since the first time I discovered and began writing with them. I first owned and used a fountain pen when I was just 11. And I’ve used FPs ever since (I’m 49 now). But yes, it’s only over the past 6 years that I’ve been regularly buying and collecting lots of FPs (and bottled inks) and watching pen channels on YT. I’ve not felt even a little of anything like ‘burnout’ with my fountain pens, inks and paper. My love and enjoyment of the hobby in its entirety is undimmed and strong as ever. The only burnout I’ve felt is with viewing pen reviewers and channels on YT. So, I’ve serially unsubscribed and stopped watching most of them for many reasons. I definitely did the right thing. I’ve always liked both snap caps and screw-on caps. But if forced to choose, I think I quite prefer screw caps, in general. You showed loads of very nice snap cap pens here. I own several of them myself. The Sheaffer PFM, Legacy, vintage Aurora 88, Parker 51, Waterman Edson, Carene, Pilot Elite particularly are among my favorite pens with snap caps. Which is your favorite Italian, German and Japanese pen, respectively?

Welcome back! It was so nice to see this episode of FNPT . Speaking personally I have really missed your videos, your knowledge of pens and your entertaining analysis of various pen designs. Thank you for sharing personal information about your life and the reasons for not releasing many videos in the last couple of years. I can fully understand how you didn't have the energy to make RU-vid content with all the things going on in your life. I hope things have improved for you and you continue to enjoy the pen hobby. About burnout, I have also watched PenBoyRoy and Waski Squirrel talk about this. I continue to write everyday with fountain pens both at work and at home. However, I feel like I have experienced a form of burnout. I no longer have the enthusiasm to buy pens. In my "journey" I have acquired some good pens over the years. Some were new, others were vintage. It is not often I buy pens now as my "journey" has almost reached an end. I could go on buying pens but would I use them? Probably not. Already I have too many some have only been inked once or twice. Another type of burnout I have experienced is watching fountain pen videos on RU-vid. A few years ago I would watch, absorb and learn as much as I could about pens. There were fewer RU-vid pen channels and I subscribed to a lot of them. Nowadays everyone seems to want to start a pen channel. The world seems overloaded by fountain pen channels. A lot of the information on these channels I have heard many times before and so it becomes repetitive. Also, I don't have enough hours in the day to watch every new channel that is popping up. So, I watch my favourites and the channels that have been around for a good few years. As for topic 2, about pens with non-threaded caps, for the last few weeks I've been using a pen you didn't mention; the Lamy Safari. The cap is so easy to take off and put back on again for writing quick notes. Also, it is almost silent in operation.

I am so sorry for your difficult last few years and am grateful that you still found time to do a few videos for us. One of my eight safety razors is 3D printed. It’s the only one of its kind I have. This is a very fine looking pen in its size and design aesthetics. The all-black is particularly appealing. And you mentioned the feel of the texture of the body . I’m not at all keen on a Jinhao steel nib. I wonder if a #8 Bock gold nib could be fitted here. That would enhance the pen’s appeal a lot more in my eyes. And if the price was right, I’d even consider buying it. 🙂

Fantastic video, Paulo. Pens of the month are always really fun to watch. Because the pens are always a treat. I didn’t really watch nor comment on your few recent random videos on Kaweco pens. But I went into this one straight away. 🙂 A bunch of great and very desirable pens here. The Marlen is intriguing. Very original and vintage-y vibe to the design appearance. If I were living near you, I’d love to hold and try it out, maybe even offer to buy it from you. Both the Parker pens are very different to each other - and differently beautiful. I wouldn’t mind owning them both myself. The Pilot Elite is really nice. That inlaid nib is a Pilot specialty. And everybody knows that the Sailor KoP is one of my absolute favorite pens of all time. And you got a special and pretty yellow one. I remember your translucent dark green one, too. Your Sheaffer Legacy I is a beauty. It’s good you chose to use the Touchdown filler, it’s so much more fun than c/c. But it’s very good the pen has both options available. Besides, you got it at such a nice price. The Waterman Edson is just fountain pen royalty. I have the same gorgeous emerald pen with gold trim and an 18k M nib. It was my grail for many years until I finally found one for $500. Whenever you’re relaxed and feel up to it, the Friday Night Pen Thoughts needs to come back. All the best!

Thank you for always being there, interested in the channel despite the inactivity for the last 2 years. I know we share some of the pen preferences. I love the Sailor KoP in yellow because I love yellow. But the translucent green is also beautiful and it always "calling me" to be inked up with the matching Montblanc Racing Green ink. The Sheaffer is an amaxing writer, almost too wet for me. But it is really a different pen. It has its very own distinctive character. The Edson is a beautiful pen. It makes sense along some designs from the same era: The Waterman Edson and the Carène (although the Serenitè was also stunning) and the Parker 100 and the Duofold (at the time they were playing with resin variations I loved, such as the pinstripe and the check)... Thank you! I am working on the ideas (not really a script - I don't do that) for the next Friday Night Pen Thoughts. It may come this week or the next one. It depends on how I can manage my time.

@@OdE-ObjectosdeEscrita…Yes, at least one (any) Aurora among a currently inked pen lineup is always specially welcome to my eyes. The modern Duo Cart remains special to me. I sold two, kept the other two in my collection (the burgundy and light green). You may remember that I love your vintage blue Duo Cart (burgundy section) just as much. I recently bought a Stipula Etruria (faceted celluloid) Volterra to add to my fleet of dozen gorgeous and beloved Stipulas. They are a small company with a niche fan base, I guess. I’m a big fan. Still quite overlooked and under-appreciated, but I love the pens and have been lucky with no QC issues with any of them, so far. I will buy more.
