What's up guys! My name is Preston and welcome to The Mana Fix! This is a Magic: The Gathering channel focused around my favorite format, Commander! I've been playing Magic since 2014 and I'm extremely passionate about it. On this channel, you can find commander deck techs on new and old commanders, box openings of the latest sets, and more! Keep an eye on the channel for awesome new content. And thanks for watching!!
Agree with your take on Shared Animosity. It is bonkers. 4 vamp tokens, lord of lineage, captivating, and markov baron is like swinging for 69 damage on like turn 3 or 4 depending on the ramp you got.
Sakishima doesn’t double the Kodama ability it makes it go totally off the rails. One triggers the other triggers the one triggers the other. The only limit is the cards in your hand. I was messing around w this in cEdh and found Prime Speaker Zegana to be unspeakably degenerate You can play Sakishima copying Kodama (and it’s cmc) then drop Prime Speaker for free drawing you 7 cards. That’s normally enough to win the game. There are plenty of infinite combos and just nasty value engines to set up from there. Tatyova and Aesi are totally broken in the deck too. This deck is slow by cedh standards but atm cedh is a midrange grind fest w most comers hiding behind walls of interaction and Rhystic studies. Thing is, almost all the cedh interaction is “counter non creature spell” so it doesn’t work against our creature combos and/or land synergies
I took a look and was able to come up with a few things: 1) Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset - This is another planeswalker that can combo with The Chain Veil if you have a land untapper like Arbor Elf out and an enchanted land that taps for three or more mana. Maybe take out Tamiyo, the Moon Sage or Jace, Memory Adept. 2) Witness Protection - I would maybe swap this in for Imprisoned in the Moon. It effectively does the same thing but for one mana as opposed to three. 3) Sythis, Harvest's Hand - One of the hardest things with this deck is balancing the enchantresses and the planeswalker themes. This is an enchantress that's an enchantment herself, so I like that a lot. Potentially drop Oath of Gideon for this. I just don't think it provides enough value at three mana to take up a slot. 4) Onakke Oathkeeper - Maybe drop Meekstone or Peacekeeper for this one. That might be a meta decision based on what your usual opponents like to run. But I like this one a lot as it deters your opponents from attacking your planeswalkers and can be used to get one back later on. 5) Sanctum Weaver - This card is a must-include now in enchantress decks. Maybe drop Gift of Paradise or Weirding Wood as those are probably the two worst options in the deck for land auras. Or if you want to have as many options as possible to enchant your lands, as that's one thing this deck really thrives on, you could drop Nature's Lore or Three Visits as those cards don't really have any synergy with the deck and are primarily there just because they are really solid land ramp options. Sorry about the long reply.. Let me know if you have any questions!
I quite love this deck list, it seems utterly busted. I do have some suggestions, though. Kodama of the East Tree also works with the Ravnica bounce lands! If you have a token generator like Scute Swarm, Rampaging Baloths, etc, you can play the bounce land, target itself, trigger the landfall that pops out a token, which puts Kodama's ability on the stack. Then, you can use the Bounce lands ability on itself, return said land back to your hand. Then, replay the land with Kodama'a trigger... letting you infinitely loop! And lastly, as my personal preference, with all the big mana and multiple tokens and creatures, I'd use tutors like Chord of Callig, Green Suns Zenith, or Tooth and Nail, but thats just because I prefer sac tutors in recursion decks or more toolboxy style decks, but again that's just personal preference. :D I did think about my own brew thats similar with Kodama partnered up with Thrasios, Hero of the Trident, and make it a purely landfall/ETB flicker deck, so seeing something similar is helping me with my own ideas!
Hmm.. yeah I think you're right actually. I thought I checked Gatherer for that one but it in fact does not have the Phyrexian creature type. Weird. Good catch!
I already have all the staples for the deck, time to shift it all to growth and lifegain and just make it that much more mean with Akromas And some control :P
@@P3rvenc as someone who has physically played against this deck I can assure you lol it's not fun and its broken af especially with these commanders together. They feed off of one another well.
I like this very much. I was looking for a janky deck to build on a budget. Only issue is we have set a $60 budget... so I'm gonna see if I can make it work for half the price... sorry, ashnods alter...
Doubling season does not adjust loyalty ability costs, only the starting loyalty of your walkers. Sadly, it states that whenever an effect would put a counter, and since loyalty abilities are costs to do an effect it doesn’t effect your loyalty.
Should have more subs! nicely paced video and good explanations of the cards and how they contribute to the overall deck. Found my way here as I'm currently building Lathiel as my second ever MTG commander deck, thoughts on using cards that summon lifelink tokens that I can buff or get a little extra value on chump blocking with? I figured these would proc effects that give life when creatures enter the battlefield too.
Yeah it's a good idea. Leonin Warleader might be good for that. March of the Multitudes can get you a bunch of lifelink tokens at instant speed. Valkyrie Harbinger also makes lifelink tokens but it's a bit slow. Glad that you picked up commander and found your way here!
Sorely want a Leonin Warleader but at the moment couldn't justify buying any pricier cards until I've tried the deck out, I did get some cards like Queen's Commission just to give the lifelink totems a whirl and decide if they provide enough value. I imagine soul's attendant and essence warden take priority for £5+ upgrades. Thanks for taking time to read and respond! I like the look of the Harbringer as I have a few lifelink solutions and populate cards in the deck
@@themanafix On another note, tried it out in some 3 way games for the first time yesterday and quickly ended up having truces made against me so I'll call it a glowing success!
Thanks for this great video! I love unicorns, and budget decks! Also the way you present everything at a steady, slower pace is great for relatively new players like me. I SUPER appreciate that you explain why cards are beneficial to the deck, rather than just assuming we know what you're thinking. That's huge. Thank you!
based on what you said at the beginning, me being a mono white player, the use is to disenchant a planeswalker, since mono white has not much when dealing with them :) this is something that I recently notice in my deck :D
In mine, i use blood vessel/catalyst elemental/basal sliver to get infinite Grenzo activations and death trigger, i prefer over the priests cuz these ones sac themselves for the mana, it is one less mana that they net, but that's all you need with the cauldron on the battlefield Also, in my build, i focused more on cards with 2 or less power, so i can bring grenzo earlier if i wanna just gamble on the bottom card, or just cheaper when my board is already with some synergies
