I’m with you on the fav mug and the drink tasting better!! 😊 also random question where did you get the wrist cuffs that you use when doing your skin care as they look great. Loving the autumn vibes on this video.
Glad I’m not alone on this haha! I got them online and the brand is Beauty Works - they have them everywhere now, I’ve even seen them in TK Maxx so check there first maybe ☺️
Immediate subscribe! Great recommendations and I love your energy! So funny 😂 It’s harder to find literary fiction channels on here, so I’m so happy I discovered you!!
Thank you! So many people say the same thing about struggling to find literary fiction channels, a lot of the book channels all recommend he same 10 books lol ☺️
I might be making this up, and sorry if I am, but I think I remember you saying you were trying acupuncture to see if it helped with the reflux - have you seen any improvement? I am having a flare up right now, and my god I would give anything to find a cure that isn't having surgery! The shirt / skirt combo looked lush but when you don't feel comfortable in an outfit it doesn't matter what other people tell you, the vibe is already ruined lol. I do think the dark green tshirt suited you though :) x
Yes you’re right! My auntie suggested it for my anxiety and I also feel like it helped my acid reflux too tbh, I haven’t had it nearly as bad since I started acupuncture and I also haven’t felt the need to take medication. I did make sure to avoid spicy food and now mostly drink decaf coffee. But I’d say give it a go? Even if you don’t feel it works for acid reflux you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed after ☺️ thank you for your kind comments as always 💖
@@whatraereads Thanks so much for coming back to me. I'm so pleased to hear it seems to have done something to help. I am also on decaf coffee these days and avoid trigger foods but sometimes even taking medication causes it! I shall have a look for someone near me. Like you say nothing to lose if it doesn't work! And you are most welcome 🧡
It makes me so happy you enjoy it! I love the city and we have such beautiful architecture here so she needs her moment ☺️ I am reading intermezzo next so will definitely let you know my thoughts in a future video x
I just started Close to Home too! What a weird coincidence. Y/N sounds very experimental to me, which is something I really dislike, and after your review I will definitely pass. Loved the beret - you look great in it! All of Whitehead's books are good.
What a funny coincidence! How did you find it? I think I’m a bit hit and miss with experimental books, sometimes I love them and other times I’m like what’s going on lol 😂
Hair looking lush 😍 And she’s a chef! (Ready for your master chef call up) 🤌 Will defo try the recipe. Hope you enjoy Close to home! Want to read it before the end of the year x
Thanks girl! I do love to cook (when I can be bothered) I think being veggie has made me more ‘skilled’ in the kitchen department lol. I loved close to home, very introspective and touching, loved that it was very vividly set in Ireland too
Im vegan and live in a small town in Germany. When I want something to eat on the go I normally can get a Petzel or something, that’s it 😅 can’t wait to move outta here to get better vegan food options and bigger book stores 😜
Ugh that’s so annoying and I feel you! It’s 2024 and there are so many amazing vegan and veggie options I truly believe businesses are just lazy! Thankfully we do have a few decent places here in Liverpool but it’s the supermarkets that frustrates me most
Maybe adding ginger and rice vinegar would boost the flavor / add more complexity to your new Thai soup recipe. Milo leaves the room every time you start vlogging. The sound him opening your bedroom door every time...Lol.
That soup sounded delicious! I'll definitely be on the lookout for vegan dumplings so that I can give it a try 👀 Sorry to hear that the book fair wasn't good, but lovely to see Suzannah make an appearance! A little while ago she added me out of the blue over on storygraph which had me shook, I follow her on ig and really admire her taste in books (and I feel the same way about your taste in books of course 😁) That mustardy green top looked lovely! That colour is perfect for autumn.
Hey Girlie! I just finished listening to Get Well Soon: History's Worst Plagues and the Heros Who Fought Them by Jennifer Wright. If you loved Mary Roach, I definitely recommend this! I listened on audio and despite the dark topic it had me laughing out loud, due to the author's asides. It's pre-Covid so it doesn't touch on that. Enjoy!
If you would like something fictional to complement ‘Empire of Pain’ as ‘trespasses’ did for ‘say nothing’, I would highly recommend Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver!📚✨ lovely video, thanks for sharing!
Amazing picks as usual! Stiff sound's aaaamazing! I just finished reading Machado's Her Body and Other Parties, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it one day. And currently reading Kohda's Woman, Eating, very weird sad girl vibes, lol.
Thank you! I loved her body and other parties, so many weird, touching, enraging and disturbing stories. I have woman eating on my shelf from thrifting it last year, I really need to get to it sometime lol
This is what we love to hear ☺️🫶 I don’t think there is nearly enough literary fiction booktubers out there! It was a little bit out of frustration of everyone recommending the same books that made me join booktube lol
Rae you should do a physical TBR and/or a bookshelf tour video. I would love to see your collection! I have a lot of similar book tastes as you. 📚📖❤ Love your content!
She is the moment 👑 Your reviews are really ace bc you know just how much to say without spoilers to get someone feeling that good sort of intrigue 🤌 A Flat Place is a really good non-fic on audio imo. Will always recommend It’s not about the Burqa and Between the world and me. Plus, Angela Davis on audio is brill as well.
Thank you friend 🫶between the world and me is one of my favourite books, so tender and touching. Gonna check out your other recs too, I really need to read some Angela Davis as she’s been on my tbr list for so long!
I'm always so excited when you post cause I get most of my lit fic recommendations from you 🤗 I just finished reading a touch of jen and it was WILD. I'm definitely gonna read my husband next
So glad you enjoyed! I’m always careful what I share in the synopsis of a book because they sometimes give away too much imo and it impacts my enjoyment of the book
This sounds so good and something I’d definitely be interested in reading! Memoirs are some of my all time favourite books to read so I’ll be adding to my list ☺️
Love your videos!! I hope you get more popular, you're now one of my favorite comfort booktubers Also, I adore the Trixie and Katya clips, you're clearly a cultured woman Also also, maybe weird but I love your accent and voice, you sound so lovely <3
Thank you so much Sophia! This means so much to me ❤️- I’m so glad people are finding my channel and enjoying my videos 😭 trixie and katya are so iconic I love them! It’s so nice when people say they like my accent haha because in the UK a lot of people hate the Liverpudlian accent and rate it as the worst in the country🤣 but I personally love being northern !
Everytime I tell myself no more books I end up falling into a bookshop and well, it would be rude not to haha! Nice to meet your sister in this one and looks like you made the most of your time in London but agree it never feels enough time x
We finally see your sister! She’s hilarious!! One of my good friends is from Liverpool so listening to you guys speak is like being sat next to our Paula 🤣. Love from Aussie ❤️
I love all the points of visual interest you include in your vlogs. It's impossible to look away from, calming but also stimulating at the same time. Thanks for taking us along on your travels!
Thank you thank you thank you! I love experiencing a city through the eyes of a creator and I always appreciate when they share little details or hidden gems ☺️ it makes me feel like I’m ’in that world with them’ in a sense so that is what I try to do too. It means a lot that you appreciate it ❤️
Great video! Had me laughing out loud a few times...also love the clips where you are barely keeping it together. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on Kala when you're done. I read it last year.
Thank you Paige! I really loved kala, such a gripping and absorbing literary mystery with vivid characters. I was absolutely hooked (especially the last 100 pages)
Every book shop you stopped in looked so lovely! Your sister making a joke about being poor whilst in a rich area, that's basically me whenever I go visit my favorite indie bookshop 😂 it's very near a fairly rich area with gorgeous houses and I like to walk around there after spending way too much money on books. As a Canadian I'm jealous that you have access to other cities so easily via train, we have nothing like that around here. I don't drive and neither does my partner so we're pretty much stuck in our city. And even if we did drive cities are all so far away from each other here that we still probably wouldn't go anywhere that often. I guess I can live vicariously through you whenever you post these types of vlogs 🙃
It’s kind of fun when you go to a rich area to pretend you belong haha! I always notice how much extra money is spent on the upkeep of the area, they’re always so clean and well maintained. We are pretty lucky with how close everything is here in the UK, although our train service is pretty bad currently, I am lucky I can drive if I like. I’m hoping to go to Edinburgh at some point soon as it’s such a picturesque place. I’m so glad you’re able to see these places even if it’s just through my little videos ☺️❤️
I love it! (Especially alternating it) but it is quite strong stuff, so maybe use it once a week and then work up every other day? It says you can use it twice a day but I wouldn’t recommend ❤️
