When i was 16 in 1982, my first car was a 1972 Road runner GTX that i bought from my dad. I LOVE this body style!! I put thousands of miles on it over 5 years, then it was time to move on. My next car was a 1974 Pontiac LeMans sport coupe - another favorite body style. Bought it at an auction for a decent price. This beast was in really good condition and served me well for another 4 - 5 years. I sure miss 'em. There's nothing like an old classic to cruise around in. 👍
Well, the reciprocating assbly sounds like it's still turning when you pop the clutch, so it's probably only peripheral. That used to happen to me in a certain 68 Dart GTS 383 Twin Turbo setup. I just got out and put all the 3" piping rubber tube and hose clamps back on. Ha Ha. I hope you only popped a fuel pump or broke a distributer rotor. moparben of moparbens at the yahoo email site
how can you be a good mopar mechanic your dealing with issues you know what the problem is instead of fixing it you continue to keep trying to start it knowing you need a starter, plugs etc.Why keep trying to dealing with broken parts instead of just fixing it lol make it make sense. He has all the mopar parts in the world in the garage. He brought nice wheels and everthing knowing it still ran like ish.Change the broken parts PROBLEM SOLVED LOL.
It turned out stunning!! The decision to go twtoned was the best choice, the black and green combo looks SO GOOD! I love the look of the door pannels WOW and I just lovd watching this video so much! Absolutely great job done, I wish I could buy this car :D greetings from Germany :)) PS, I totally understand the decision to leave it patined but damn I would love to see it painted and shiny = just personal preference of course :D I am still so jealous haha :D
My dream car is a 70 Roadrunner, but I gotta say I am falling in love with the early to mid 70s Roadrunners. I would definitely take a 71 thru 72, but for the sake of actually owning a Roadrunner, I would own a 73 thru 74.
I’m 71 now and your RR brings back fun memories. Especially that horn. When I was in high school, a friend’s brother owned a new 68 , 383 , 4 speed RR. We would sneak his brothers keys while he slept and run around all night in that car. Back then we would love to get on the expressway and bury the speedometer! Crazy! It would burn rubber in all 4 gears! The engine had several upgrades. Good times. Wish I was 17 again! 😂
Another great vid, Dylan! Would really enjoy seeing more improvements to the Road Runner -- will make a really nice cruiser! I also enjoy Briar (sp?) -- seems like a really nice young man -- tell him to hang in there with all of this! steve
With all of the troublesome carbs you run into in your automotive adventures, you should invest in a carb dip tank. It will save you much time and work required by hand cleaning an old crusty carb. IMHO. Hope this help. God bless, stay well.
Just put a new starter you got all that money and you don't want to afford starter I love your channel sometimes I just don't get things while you do them
That car needs a wiring harness and you know this I'll just put a new radiator in it anyways and you fuel pump give that motor exactly what it needs new spark plugs on the ignition parts
Dylan my brother in law has a 1978 road runner and is trying to restore it and needs a grill would have any idea where he might find one. He was a mechanic by trade and is now retired and battling Cancer. He bought the car brand new and has had it it's entire life. He lives in Chattanooga Tn. I would appreciate any information you might have on where he might be able to locate a grill for his baby.
Was it towed in on a wheel lift ... That will dent an oil pan in one bump if elevated too high.. yours just dented... But, y'all auta see what happens to an aluminum oil pan... Gets pretty messy...
