I have this game for a long time and surprised it actually still maintained by the devs. Kudos to them. I also sad that its got less recognition than it actually deserves. It commendable for this small team to attempt totally ambitious concept and relatively very succeed at it. Dice should be ashamed of themselves, because their output in recent years combined wont even close if being compared to this game.
First of all, we would like to thank you for making such a beautiful video. Your summary and narration are excellent... We have made many updates, added many new features to the game, and performed optimizations since this video is released. We hope to see new videos where you discuss these updates as well :) Your content is fantastic. Keep up the great work! 🤘
my star citizen does not seem to capture my head tracking properly, I have been using Smooth track for a while on WT and it works just great, now That I am testing out some mounts for hotas and SC just dont seem to be able to get my tracking, Currently using Opentrack and Smooth track , Ive seen some other people use it but no luck so far!
I know this video is a decade old, but so are the Alice community forums lol so I have about as good a chance getting an answer here. I'm just trying to program an object to pop up once the camera is within a certain distance, while the camera is set to be controlled by the user with the mouse. Whenever playing the world the object either pops up no matter what or doesn't at all, so I was hoping to see the programmed example of how you did this in your video. The google files say they no longer exist.
So, I do not still have it. But if I remember correctly, I turned the camera into an "If/Else" statement. Pretty much, "If camera is within 5 meters of tombstone tapePlayer move up 5 meter Else Do Nothing" If you are trying to make the object disappear within a time frame of the user not moving to the location, you will want to put that While statement so that. "While time is not 0.00, continue to do this If/Else statement but While time is 0.00, do this tapePlayer is destroyed" Something like that. I hope this helps. I cannot find any of my old files :( They are somewhere on an old hard drive.
Looks interesting and complex but at the same time I feel like there is allot missing to make it a masterpiece. Btw you sound like the radio guy from Diamond City minus the anxiety =):D take it as you want.
ROFL 🤣 thank you I think 🤣 but the game was fun…I enjoy space games so I’m a sucker even if it might not be the best. They have such a different element for gameplay that makes it fun but I did notice that fun drain fast. It’s still worth a play but the demo will give you enough fill to judge it. ($10 game max in my option because I heard news that the devs have stopped working on it)
Thanks for the review, I'm not a strategy game fan myself but for some reason I keep looking for one that I I might enjoy, I guess it might be because I played Age of Empires, Starcraft, Warcraft, etc back in the day when you didn't have many options and strategy games the the thing. You gave it a pretty brutally honest review I would say despite what the buy bellow said =). It's kinda disappointing but the game looks like it has allot of potential. I want to see voice acting(warcraft like) and better characters with background and unique features and ofk better tutorials, a game that comes with a new system needs a good tutorial.
Let me just tell you. There is no way to not be effected by game given to you for free versus when you paid money for it. It's psychology, you can't control it. So remember, unless you buy the game, your reviews are not what it is to anyone else who bought the game. it's easier to get amused for free.
Cool, I guess you didn’t watch the video all the way as I rated the game in its current state as something I would not play period. I say in my reviews that all games are worth it to someone out there so I give it a value amount versus a buy or not. Thanks for the psychology information though, if it’s not obvious I worked in medicine 😂
I think it's the name that puts people off. I think the devs should keep AFF as the subtitle, because of the legacy and years of commitment. But a catchy FPS name that gives prospective buyers a hint of what to expect is what's needed. Think in terms of names with "battle", "combat", "Boarding Action", "assault"...and so on. My humble 5c.
@@unanimousarts we differ in our opinions. Ive shared mine and youve shared yours. If you’re a bit unsure “what I’m on about”, I refer you to my original post for clarification, as apparently you havent read it all...
@@MyMagicalPeanut😂😂😂 That was pretty weak, mate. If you want to be like that, I’ll have you know that it was as boring as “battle”, “combat”, “boarding action”, and “assault”. But who gives a fuck. It probably sounded good to you. Opinions.
It's overcomplicated, BF2142 was quite simple and straightforward fitting in overall BF concept. Cap the point, hold the point. Cap a silo, hold a silo. I've installed AFF couple years ago and it was too much to figure out.
complicated lets people try novel strategies, instead of working with a limited shared toolbox that relies on physical ability like reaction time. good for old people and people who are tired, but still want to have fun
Reinstalled this recently and I'm blown away but how deep the customization is and, honestly, that the AI bots are somewhat competent. Underrated as heck.
Starpoint Gemini 2 and warlords has the broad side mechanic. Star Trek Starfleet command gold edition has it also. That's old game but I would say is the best tactical ship game as you control everything on the ship. And have 6 sides of the ship unlike most new only have 4.
Absolutely love it. I never thought I would love AMD as much as I do. Now, granted their software needs some work and some games have issues but overall, value for dollar it’s the best.
100% you will still need to do some fighting for the story but yes you can do mining/trading/building and make that your profit and do the combat when required for missions or faction standing.
Both. Runs perfect on pc (of course). On Steam Deck it runs, decent. The issue isn’t that the system cannot run it, the issue is the UI and controls for the system. It’s got a lot of better since its release though so I haven’t tried it recently.
I do not think they’re bad lol I just meant they are bots not to be messed with. Some of them are demonic, side, walking, never missing, bots of hell. Other times they are just your typical AI bots.
@@SamierRN I've tried it now for a day or two and its amazing! Disorienting at first but its easy to get used to, so useful for looking around and getting close up and brings immersion to a whole new level! Wonderful software and thanks for posting :)
@styanax it’s my pleasure. I forgot what option it is in the settings but it allows you to move your head forward and backwards in game so you can look up close to each panel. So cool! Works for other games too!
It depends on the ship. Only the big multi crew ships have that option to get out the seat and my keybind is “f”. Then pull the repair tool out if you have that item on your character. I was flying a corvette I believe. When respawning, see if the bigger ships are available to jump into. If not, look on the map for them and you can board them.
Starfield Disappointed Me To My Core🤦🏾🤦🏾😫😅 I'm actually looking at this right at this moment hoping that Controller Support is like what it states.... I'm terrible at Mouse And Keyboard🤦🏾
So, controller support still needs some improvement and I want you to be aware of that before you dive in. I don’t normally like to promote this on games, but I would definitely play the game in the first hour and see if you like it otherwise return the game and wait till it’s more polished for controller support. I tried playing on my steam deck, and let’s say it was not the best experience.
Games with offline bots, are worth more than $10-18 when things are increasingly becoming 'Games as a service/live service' They retain their value long after the servers have shutdown and players have moved on to the next live service game. One also gets to OWN their game (If its DRM-Free) and still bring it out and enjoy it from time to time.
Oh trust me, I know what you are saying. Things will never change because gamers want their fix and they won’t fight back the studios that constantly are doing this bad practice. With that said, no…this game is not DRM. This game had to take a break due to family issues since the dev team is very small but very close. I met two of the devs and I believe if I remember from my time with them, it was only one other person on the team. But yeah, I play offline a lot and I enjoy it. The fact that you can run the game server off your own pc is even better because like you said, the game will never truly die. But yeah, I wish this game had more sight and love, such a wonderful game.
Will this game come to GOG? Games with offline bots are sorely needed, as 'Games as a service/live service' games live and die on player numbers...and just plain die when the servers shutdown.
I’m so sorry for the delay. I’m not super familiar with that game so I reached out to a friend who has played it and let me try it. It’s night and day. Two completely different game elements that I can truthfully say do not compare to one another. So, with that said…what I can tell you is if you like a single player experience of growing your our outcome, this is that game. The developers is still working hard with a recent update for more big fixes and finishing the single player storyline. He is constantly improving the game so I love everything that has been coming. I hope that helps, sorry it might not be the answer you want but it’s my honest one.
It's got a good premise and a lot of mechanics already, but things just need polishing more than anything, re-textures and some qol content, iteration and polishing of what's already there. The AI need some tweaks and ground combat in general needs work. A few little bugs but nothing game breaking so far. I think providing the dev keeps hard at work it'll be a great game in time. I don't know that I can recommend buying it other than to support the development, there is plenty of hours of gameplay but whether you'll get a lot of hours out of it is sort of up to each person.@@MrParis215
That is all that matters. Enjoy the games you like and play however you like. I mean, they are meant for our entertainment, so, be entertained and forget everything else.
I don’t have that answer. I do encourage you to check out the steam page. He has a trello page that shows everything he wants to do before “released.” He is very active with the community and bug fixing.
Hi thank you so much for these videos. After watching and listening to your thoughts I decided to buy the game myself to enjoy as it develops. Keep up the great work!
It actually was based off that. They (CIG & CCP) sort of collaborated on that since they made a comment about the ship looking the same and said it was cool. It was nice to see two space game studios coming together for the players. They have also teamed on other events which is cool.
two questions: 1.). is it seamless space travel with no loading screens? space to planetside, planetside to space, planet to planet, system to system? 2.) can we walk inside our ships?
1) No blank screen but there is a “no control” transition screen. You are still in game and can activate menu and so on but you have no control of ship for a bit. 2) you can currently only walk through the mothership as every other ship is basically a single pilot ship. The corvette is a big ship but you cannot walk through it.
So much of people hating bethesda only for being them.. its just people dont like loading screens in 2023 anymore. specially in spacegames it seems to be out of fashion. So even bethesda has to get with the program and be left behind.. #TheModdersWillSaveIt
if this goes full release i think it will be better than starfield i dunno what those AAA companies do with their time since this is made by like one guy
Passion does it all. Most companies don’t have a clear cut idea anymore and throw anything at the wall to see what sticks. He is making a game of his dreams verse just all about the $$$$
Games doesn’t need it. Not all games are meant to be played with others and to experience the story and self progression through a progressive system that will make everyone’s play through different. Think of this as a starfield experience but better.
That would be a story for another day :) I have a theory about games that are just single player versus both and even games that are just multiplayer and no single. But it comes down to the gamer. I personally prefer a developer to make that call because a game can suffer when you stretch things, not easy to snap a finger and say a game can get multiplayer. My thought and personal knowledge working in the industry.
