NO, you don't need to be angry. Angry is an emotion that will get you manipulated into the opposite of doing Good. Why are farmers and ranchers turning to ever more industrialized means of production? Because of the pressure government, lending institutions and supermarkets place upon them. Regulations are a micromanaging nightmare, as the costs keep piling up. It's easy to blame the farmers, but when central governments love to dance with big pharmaceutical conglomerates, and the local governments really don't want to bother certain other non-farming companies from cleaning their act, this group of people speaking strictly of farmers sounds like it's missing the mark big time. The usual response has been to overtax farmers (this group even went as far as accusing dairy farmers from making a profit! - the scandal. How dare farmers make a profit in the face of the odds placed against them? Legalism is also a type of pollution Instead of educating farmers in how to move away from the current industrial agro-chemical model, by means of *Regenerative Agriculture*, for example, and providing them the financial leeway to do so, we have some uninspired trope about climate change. It's very public knowledge that water/sewer companies are just dumping their untreated sludge. But not a word about them devastating ecosystems and endangering human health. No: demands and anger don't do anything. That's the domain of the un-empowered. In 40 years they will still be angered and demanding. But only until people are able to purchase their own land and produce food themselves will you see a change, because people who are connected to their soil every day can ACT to avoid its destruction.
Maybe, just maybe, you all need to be angry. The whole of the wildlife trust , each and every trust needs to be angry. Very angry. From that angry position you need to be active in government. Not just expecting your subscribers to sign petitions, or march. Present yourselves at Parliament and demand action. Create a list of actions that are essential and present that list, in person , to the person in charge. Do not accept any platitudes. Until you get what we and nature needs refuse to leave. Put yourselves on the line. As a subscriber to the wildlife trust, I am sick and tired of your words without action. We all agree with the sentiments professed in this discussion. But, we can discuss till the cows come home. Please can you actually act? Stop sitting on this high and mighty fence and disrupt. For the sake of our natural word, do something . They're cute, but they're killing our native songbirds at an alarming rate. These aren't native to the Americas. They kill bluebirds and their eggs, for instance, and then take over the nest, laying their eggs on top of the birds they killed. There are places that will actually take these birds in, and feed them to birds of prey. They are adorable, but at what cost?

As an outsider to this subject, I felt the discussion lacked any numerical context. Where were the numbers? How great is the level of finance? Compared to what? What is the purpose of the finance? What is the trend in the finance over time, looking to the past and the future?
Climate change is caused by the cycles of the sun. Humans make negligible difference. Scientist's are delusional if they think we can actually prevent climate change. All we can do is adapt. Pollution is another subject. It should be controlled, not taxed. Net Zero is idiotic. Why ruin everything we have achieved for just a token gesture.

DO NOT vote for anyone who is not willing to shutdown all fossil burning in their term.. Do not vote for anyone who is not talking about climate change, 6th mass extinction and other environmental issues daily and who are not really going to make these things better in their coming term. Within next parliament term, we are reaching above 1,5C and setting pace for 2C (14-16 years). We have to take out the main culprit, so: Stop burning fossil fuels. Today.

You need to be careful regarding cattle grazing as too many cattle can disturb the adders. I know a few sites in the New Forest where too many cattle have decimated adder populations.
I agree, but sadly in my local area of Wellingborough and other parts of Northamptonshire they seem to want to cut down trees, build more roads and houses get rid of our green spaces. The opposite of what is needed and we need green spaces for our own peace of mind, not ugly looking buildings and destroy the views.
