Lasting change comes from within a community, from their hopes and dreams and passions, with local people choosing their own future. The Nextdoor Nature project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is working alongside communities across the UK to listen to their needs and support them as they make their local spaces even better - better for people, better for wildlife, better for nature.
In this video, Adam from Derbyshire Wildlife Trust explains how he's working with a wide variety of communities across Derby, supported by the city council and voluntary organisations. Their dream is to link up a patchwork of green spaces, bringing nature closer to the people who live and work in the city.
