I have been a home gym owner since 2016 and on my 3rd iteration of my gym! I started my home gym journey because there was no powerlifting gyms around me at the time and I wanted a place for me and my friends to train. I have been powerlifting since 2017 competing in 82-90kg weight classes (still not a 500 dots lifter). I have jumped into the deep end of being a home gym owner while on my powerlifting journey. I like trying out different things and trying to work with what I have to mimic machines from commercial gyms. You will catch me making videos on gym equipment I purchase and acquire throughout the years! Hope you stay along for the ride!
Hey! Its pretty sturdy and fits most of my benches. It fits the rogue AB-2 and prime fitness adjustable bench. It works well and doesn’t slip that much. The annoying thing is adjusting the belt strap it comes with, you have to set it first and then buckle it in. You can’t get it as snug after you buckle it in. I think you can also ask abmat for a longer strap as well if you have a large width bench. My favorite use for it is doing seated bench work
It is because it hooks that come with the VTS do not fit 35mm, I tried fitting it on the handle to use the rack holes but the clamp on the hook is too small and this is the way I saw it possible. you can always place more band pegs/magpins so you can start from a bottomed out position. I wouldn’t try to max out with the uda handles but it does fit the VTS
@@MurphGymExperiment for what its worth when I tested this I grabbed the handle and held myself up while it was latched to the magpin/band peg. I am about 190lbs and it held up. I would say be-careful if you are doing a lot of dynamic exercises and latching really quickly. I think as long as theres no movement or play with your magpin you should be good. Yes visually it doesn’t look like it’s holding on by a lot but after testing it, it does work. I have the iso handles as well. Bulletproof also makes latches designed to latch to a band peg/ magpin. I don’t have those latches so thats why I just used what my vts came with.
How to use your Mutant Metal UDA handles with your bulletproof fitness VTS: 1. Place knurled portion of handle into clamp 2. Set up a mag pin or band peg close above the VTS 3. Install the hook onto the smooth portion of the UDA handle pin 4. Use a plate spacer or barbell collar to keep the weight from touching the threaded portion of the handle 5. Hook the VTS on the magpin for the starting position of the lift you are performing
Its easier to set up the thresher pad for rows and other uses in general. But in terms of row performance it’s pretty equal footing. You might get more ROM with a bulldog pad because the underside of it takes up less real estate. If I had to pick I would go with what you can get cheaper
I have been trying to find the most optimal way to do seated leg curls with the Isolator and I think I have a not so complicated way to do it. You will need an Isolator, at minimum the hex port sleeve adapter (I flip mine upside down to hold my legs down), and something to sit on that has an opening like this Rogue Box Squat. You can probably use a flat bench if its tall enough as most flat benches have openings between the posts. You can do this same setup without the abmat box squat pad it just makes it a little easier to elevate my legs. I am also using the self adjusting roller pad and am on a 4 post rack. You can do this on a squat stand but I find it easier to set up on a rack. First step is to flip the lever arm to the other side of the isolator, set up your roller on the lever arm to be where you want to do the leg curls. Second step flip the hex port sleeve adapter upside down on the other post adjacent to the Isolator. Then install either the self adjusting roller or flat pad (the one you do preacher curls on) to the hex port sleeve and make sure everything is tight otherwise your hex port sleeve will sag (mine will sag regardless). To get into this setup, sit down first and then swing your legs in from the side and then adjust the self adjusting roller/flat pad accordingly to keep your legs locked down. Hope this setup works for you as it works for me. The other setup I saw before requires you to flip the isolator carriage and I thought this would be an easier way for most. It does require more of the isolator attachments but it might be worth it for you. If you have any questions let me know!
Yo this video was so clutch, I just ordered it and saw the video after. I had to email them that I found a code and they said just send us the code and we’ll apply it. You da man! 👍🏽
This video confirms I’m not alone. I love rep and I like this bar overall but I don’t like the smooth knurling in the bends at all. The first one I ordered was an anomaly, I thought, so I reached out to rep with photos and they were kind enough to send me a replacement. My replacement came in and it was the exact same way so I kept it and didn’t reach back out to Rep. I guess it’s all of them, then. Thanks for the video 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Just wanted to give an update on my training as I ramp up my bench frequency to 4x a week. In the past I’ve yielded the best results on bench when benching at a higher frequency of 4 times a week. I am using my pioneer 10mm 3” belt for this block of training. I do have a review video on this belt specifically on my channel that I highly recommend for this use case and how it helps me brace my arch/ stabilize my bench. Still chasing that 405 dream 😅
Hey everyone! Just another test video with the Rorman Strength megalith handles. I set up my trolley arms to mimic a machine style deadlift. I think this is an alright movement and doesn’t replace the barbell deadlift. This movement is good for overload work for sure. The felt weight is not whats directly loaded. I would say the felt weight in this video is 30-45% less of what is loaded. Even though I get into the 600s of weight it’s definitely way less than that because of the placement of the plates. The megalith handles hold up pretty well for the amount of weight loaded. But I wouldn’t get this heavy again because it is using bearings that moves. Anyways as always if you have any questions let me know!
It's a good design, looks more ergonomic, but "self adjusting" feels like exaggerated marketing. The roller is always going to be perpendicular to the lever arm, because that's the direction your force is going. Comfier, yeah, but it self adjusts in one direction every time lol
Yeah instead using the word “self” adjusting probably would be better to just have it called the Adjustable Roller Pad or the Return Roller (since it always comes back to the same spot at the end of each lift). It would make more sense.
Hey all! I am doing some testing and exploration on the Rorman strength megalith handles I got in earlier this week, and I wanted to share with you a hack I found. You can use your megalith handles with your isolator if you have the adjustable roller pad hex port sleeve. I found it as an alternative to do single arm preacher curls as well as bent over rows/meadows rows. You don’t have to take apart the megalith handles and you can opt out of using the plastic washers it comes with. I plan on releasing a longer video on the megalith handles but I thought this was a cool hack to share asap. If you have any questions let me know!! Appreciate you watching!
