Join me as I go metal detecting in the fields of Suffolk & Norfolk which are bursting with history and artefacts just waiting to be discovered! I've got my usual kit with me, the Minelab Manticore metal detector using the All Terrain Fast program with slightly modified settings to give me good depth, XP MI6 pinpointer and Minelab spade.

Hi mate, some more excellent finds! I have a Noble mdt spade and I can vouch that it loves hard soil, definitely best on the market 💯. Love your channel mate so please keep more coming. I am still on the Nox 800 which I love but will be soon ( as long as I keep Mrs happy lol) getting a mighty Manticore. Take care and all the best from Somerset 👍🏻👍🏻💯✨
The piece around 10mins, it looks like a bar would have slotted through the holes as a handle for turning, and it's sheared off at the end where it's snapped. Just a guess, and no idea what it would have been for.
Been going out quite a lot in the past week as I’ve found 4 items that are currently being recorded by the FLO, they are two romans one being a denarius from around 45bc, a Roman fibula and a Henry lll long cross, since the. I’ve found a Edward l penny, I’ve only been detecting since august, and received a bucket lister ( the denarius), sadly I don’t think it will be two long until my permissions outside my house are planted
Short and sweet mate 👍🏻but always worth watching, nice finds box, yeah I will be interested in one of those please when they are ready. Buttons are still fun to find though and I have a field where it’s seems like everyone went to lose them lol. Thanks buddy and all the best from Somerset 💯👍🏻👍🏻✨

Hi, the green patina item with a small hole in it. It’s a votive Axe! So well done on that. For context, Miniature axes such as yours , are often found in burials or areas which may have religious significance, signifying a common religious Iron Age or Romano Celtic practice in that country and here in Britain on the Fen Edge. The axe as an embodiment of military power and agricultural competence is a common symbol in prehistory. In a burial it may signify the most useful tool - defence and domestic efficiency - that a human can take into the afterlife. On a religious site, it will probably invest the giver with domestic and farming handyness plus defence, fighting skills. They may also be simply carried about to convey day to day useful powers to the bearer.
I had no idea mate! Thank you for all of this information, I would be been happy with just that over the weekend if I had of known 😅 Thanks for watching
At 11.01 it looks like the head part of a hooked pin. At 16.48 agree with a boy bishop token. At least you had a silver thimble and a nice beehive one. The belt mount with the face is most likely 16th/17th Century. The bronze thing with the hole in looks like a votive Axe and are Iron Age/Roman but not seen many pierced ones and worth showing the local FLO
Thanks for the IDs 👍🏻 My battery died just after I found the bishop boy token otherwise id of searched that area more as it started to produce some nice bits! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
You’ll have to come next year mate, it’s a great weekend! Thimbles for days mate 🤣 One field on our permission is full of cloth/bag seals, but it was an old market from 1200-1600 AD so there’s plenty of hammered coins in there too 😉

lovely finds, i also live in Suffolk and trying to find permissions is so hard, most of the farmers are wary due to night hawkers and these idiots ruin it for us who are genuinely interested in saving history really enjoy your videos
It’s really tough, I’ve been lucky to secure a few places to go but it’s always been through people I know who know the land owners. Don’t give up though and give the local group digs a go, there’s some really good land about 👍🏻
The ground sure was dry and rock hard in places, still you carried on . Loved those buckles, and your two coins very well done 👏. Best wishes Simon and Beth ❤👋
Amazing finds! Hello from Michigan, USA. Love seeing the numbers on the Manticore. I will in Suffolk in October, and will help with target comparisons. Thanks.
I always watch your videos. You have some great land and finds. I’ve detected 46+ years now but still have the passion. Club dig tomorrow and so looking forward to it, we are in the field next to last week. Last week delivered, including a really mint gold hammered Edward III quarter noble. Keep it up young man, I love your work 😁👍
