I will try and post as many videos as I can, showing simple routine maintenance to keep your vehicle running. I am not a master mechanic, just a cheap "shade tree" DIY'er who likes to save money. And the thought of another mechanic man-handling my vehicles makes me feel dirty
This entire video and you didn’t just rip out that stupid ass rod? All this problem is more failed non-sense idiot proof equipment. What moron puts their vehicle in Reverse while driving? Good luck to them, I’m ripping that stupid rod out.
What truly seems to be the case here is that the factory pulley, ended up making its way back towards the block. Exposing the rubber that was between the base of the balancer and the actual pulley. The belt then ends up derailing off of the actual pulley and then falls onto the rubber. The belt then makes grooves into the rubber while destroying it.
Hi im need help see the video where you put 2016 my gig Connect at dodge Dakota .i have dodge Dakota 2004 can’t install the my gig connect can you show diagram how do thanks
You are so right. People get vehicles and just dog them out and not take care of them very sad and then the results is a vehicle that need a thousand things fixed because previously owners didn't do the basics Maintenance on then.SMH
Excellent video: informative and concise.👌 A friend borrowed my 2001 and PRIED the ashtray open and broke the little “push to open/push to close” toggle lever . Ugh! So now it won’t stay closed. I’ll have to remove the upper cowel, then the entire ashtray assy to attempt a fix. Thanks for the help.🙏👍😉
If you know for sure you have the correct replacement, disconnect battery + terminal, cut the wires to the O2 sensor, then use a deep well 7/8" socket and probably a breaker bar. Might also try to spray some liquid wrench to soak in to the threads.
Great video, thanks for posting. It's been a while since you posted this. I'm wondering if you still have it, and if so, have you updated it recently? Their website seems to be down..
worst engine on the planet... who puts PLASTIC TIMING CHAIN GUIDES ON AN ENGINE WITH S CHAINS ONE IN BACK AND FRINT... NEED TO PULL WHOLE ENGINE FOR REAR TIMING CHAIN...
Thanks for posting this. Just coming into summer here in Australia and my motor died and I cannot face another monthly mechanics bill for my XC90 😅 Two builds though; 1. I had to pull at the panel holding the footwell light so much i found it better to remove the light and replace after. 2. Refitting the unit was a real pain, just couldn’t get it to seat by hand. Until I decided to start tightening up the fasteners and then noticed it suddenly pulled itself into alignment.
Just to let everyone know itIS NOT A LEFT HAND THREADED BOLT!! i broke my bolt off thinking it was left handed while watching this video and I looked closely at the bolt in video and its STANDARD THREADED also. It cost me several days traveling to a different city where car broke down to fix the broken BROKEN STANDARD BOLT i had been tightening the crap out of til it broke.😡
Hands down, these Volvos are the worst in car design. I owned and maintained Range Rover, Lotus Esprit, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mazda MX6 and other cars over the years and did basic maintenance on the driveway, but these Volvos are such the PITA, it's almost criminal that they sell them in the USA. I am driving one of these 2004 edition temporarily, and I find so many design flaws in this car, and to make it worse, I have to maintain while it's in my possession, and it infuriates me that one has to do what this guy is doing just to change a tail light. And it so happens that I have to replace a burnt out tail light now, with loads of equipment in the cargo space! AARRRGGGHHHH!!! It's just stupid to buy a Volvo.
These damn engineers... who the hell puts a thermostat on the bottom side of the motor? Real jerk move on their part. It must have been too convenient on the 5.2L and 5.9L being on the tip side. 😅
Man THANKYOU for the detailed video. My 05 metro is my first moped and I was very apprehensive to pull the carb and clean the jets when I found out it was problem. I was able to do the job in less than 2 hours and she fired right up! Again THANKYOU!!!!!
I just did this this job ended up being a bit of a nightmare. The puller bolts were to short and needed 8mmx1.25x90mm or 100mm long. After installing the dorman harmonic balancer I started getting misfire codes P0300 P0303 p0304. I changed out the crank sensor and spark plugs. I ended up pulling the balancer back off and found that the pickup teeth for the sensor were bent on the new balancer. Make sure to check your new one before install. I just wanted to share this info for others.
Were you able to drive your truck with the P0442 and P0455 error codes? I have an 01 Dakota V6 with those check engine light codes. I have replaced the gas cap and the EVAP Evaporative Emissions Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Valve. I cleared the codes but they come back later. Any ideas?
On mine the button broke but now that I saw how that comes apart, I hope that I can get it into park. Off to E Bay and order another shifter. Mine is an 06 with just about 200,000 miles and the plastic bits are starting to become brittle. I will check back after I get the part. I was kind of hoping there would be a manual override, but no such luck. Thanks for the video.
@@ItchyKneeSon Wellllllllll. It did it again and I put in another shifter and still no go. After watching a few videos, I found one young lady who had the same problem and she showed how to partially disassemble the shifter cover and on the drivers side is a small white tab that you push down and it releases until you put it in park again. I haven't had time to dig to far into it because the weather has been crappy so I am using my winter beater Buick LaCross (I didn't realize how low a regular car sits as I am so used to the Volvo) but the weather is finally supposed to get warmer (I am in BFE Montana). I am thinking along the lines of an electrical issue because the shift lever button works, but I need to go through the service manual to see if it offers a clue.
