Basically to summarize what he is saying because I as well have been really interested in this topic. It’s better to play claw than standard grip. It makes sense too because all the cracked players I know that play controller play claw. People will say it’s only so you never take fingers off controller but what they fail to recognize is claw also changes your thumb placement to a more advantageous position
Playing siege in the firing range while listening to this just moving my thumb on the stick finding a position and right before you started talking about using the end joint of your thumb I was aiming like that honestly the best way to aim in my opinion aswell
I'm a MnK player but I wanna learn controller cuz I'm on console now, I've been struggling a lot tbh, I always apply too much strength on the right stick, it's even harder for me because I hate reg guns, I only snipe. I'II try what you said in this video.
Some findings that I've discovered after seven months of trail and error on finding the 'optimal grip': 1. Put some tension on the middle of your thumbstick. If you place it too high your crosshair will go up which will make centering, micro-adjustments, and recoil control more difficult. The same can be said if you place it low, you'll find yourself looking at the ground at times. 2. Grip your controller TIGHT. Your palms and thumbs could be glued to your controller. Try guiding your thumbstick with as little tension as possible, then apply pressure to it(like you're about to press R3 to melee). You'll see a drastic difference in your centering and ability to fine tine your crosshair. And this will keep your thumbs from sliding off your joystick 3. DIP joint of the thumb (top thumb joint) should be bent. When this joint is bent you have stored up potential energy in the muscles and tendons around your thumb that you can convert to energy on the joystick quickly and precisely. But, as you have observed, many players get away with a straight or locked thumb because they learned how to play on a controller when they were younger and their thumb wasn't long enough to properly manipulate the joystick - and they just got used to it. Guyz, I have a huge problem. It's absolutely impossible for me to keep the thumb straight, reach the buttons with my claw finger and also grip the ps5 controller. My hands are too fking small. Any ideas?
Hi, he may be using an Apex 3 which is essentially a small mouse for your right thumb (unless he has a video) :-D with easy access to the buttons, though it's still passes as a controller. If he uses a regular DualSense (the Dreamcast layout used by it's spiritual successor the Xbox controller, which looks better but may not perform as the Sony layout for efficient movement), he most likely has his thumb as horizontal as possible and may be using his arm and wrist (similar to a technique in drawing, for drawing straight lines), not really his thumb which then to arc, thus the reticle in intense moments go up and zigzags (thus many pros use the jitter technique), his hand may have the endurance to do that or one can last by not using the thumb (it's just to hold it). He must have his controller on his lap with maybe a rubber grip mod for this controller body, so his wrists can float and they are are horizontal as moving as possible- not practical when you want to relax (but must be the best for tournaments) wherein you have your controller on top of your head :-D he may be using a raised armrest to lessen the strain on such a technique. He may also be using his thumb knuckles so there's more continuous movement and not have to reset the thumbs in those microseconds and does the claw grip like most pros coz' there's more leverage when you're pressing down (gravity assisted- small things truly help) God bless.
brother this video is fucking awful. holy shit no one cares about the game youre playing, focus on talking. this was an insult to my intelligence and its hilarious it has so many views.
This was awful? but you still took the 10-30 seconds of your time to write and post something negative when you really could've just went about your day to another video atleast the guy took his time to think about how to help players who are struggling and upload it thats positivity
@@papipix7496 sure did. Because this is me going out of my way to help someone. If he wants to improve on RU-vid he should stop making sucky videos. Thoughts?
Im sure he can see that with just a dislike thoughts? 🤔 but saying its fucking awful and nobody cares about the game you're playing, when clearly people do thats why you and i clicked on the video right?
Bro this kinda shit and seating position is like all I'm ever thinking about for apex but noone ever talks about it for controller, I feel like I'm crazy. I guess most people are just satisfied with the muscle memory they initially develop. I feel like having limited range of motion and even missing function of some of my already beefy fingers, from rugby and wrestling, forced me to start micro analyzing a lot of shit to get around some nasty habits.
Tilt your thumb slightly to the left, like you're about to crush an ant or nit. I have meaty long triple jointed thumbs, and tilting my thumb like that helped me aim a lot better
Mutex??…..the mumu (pussy in German … colloquially…the extremely blatant cheater who also get pretty much exposed?? Aaahhh.. yeah without cheats you ain‘t gonna have aim like him
I’ve been recently switching from beion PC for about 15 years and playing only keyboard and mouse to a controller. And this video is the one i was looking for! I couldn’t figure out how and what to type in the internet to get such video. And then i found this masterpiece! I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this piece! 🙏
What baffles me is that you have your index finger practically wrapped over R1. It's very different from what I do, which is place the 'palm' of my index finger on R1, almost the tip.
This is precisely why the WiiU analogue stick placement was the best, it was in a much more natural position for your thumb, control was far greater as a result.
Vanguard is the only game I have more than 10 nukes in, I never been able to get 73 nukes in any other cod or even close to that, a lot of people hate this game but the movement made this cod one of my fav.
I had an epiphany and finally understood how Mutex moves around so smooth! It has to do with how you use the muscles in your arm and how it affects your thumb movement. When you tense your arm/ shoulder muscles and hold the controller firmly, it allows you to have more precise movements with your thumb, making it easier to do micro movements with the thumbstick. There's a player that I watch in another fps game, who plays on the highest sensitivity, yet has super smooth movement and aim, but this technique seems to mimic how they do it.
That's how I aim on console shooters like dead space and such, by flicking but I feel like doing that damages the controller stick, don't know if true or not but it's nasty, maybe i'm just too aggressive or smth
