Hi there! This video is showing examples of our wired solutions. You may be thinking of our W2K-1 Wireless Gateway: actisense.com/products/w2k-1-nmea-2000-wifi-gateway/ Find out more about getting your data onto a PC here: actisense.com/actisense-cloud/ Happy sailing ⛵

OK, let's say I get an NGT-1 system rigged up. Can I see my radar, sonar and chartplotter data on my PC in Timezero somehow presuming they're already on the NMEA backbone?
@Actisense
@Actisense 3 месяца назад
Hi, thanks for reaching out. The NGT-1 can transfer all messages between the NMEA 2000 back bone and a supported application on a PC. Thus it allows Timezero to interface with the NMEA 2000 bus such that it can display / utilise the supported NMEA 2000 data available on the backbone. The Timezero user guides are very comprehensive and detail what data is supported. You can find them here: userguide.mytimezero.com/ And how to connect to Timezero here: actisense.com/news/how-to-connect-your-nmea-2000-network-to-timezero/ Please note the NGT-1 will be replaced by its natural successor, the NGX-1 which you can read about here: actisense.com/products/nmea-2000-gateway-ngx-1/ Happy sailing ⛵

"Configure data servers with..." what the heck is that and how do we figure out what numbers to use??????
@Actisense
@Actisense 3 месяца назад
Hi there! A data server on the W2K-1 allows the W2K-1 to serve data to an IP device connected via Wi-Fi. A corresponding port number needs to be configured by both the W2K-1 and the client software application to allow them to communicate via TCP. The W2K-1 uses unregistered ports 60001 to 60003 by default but any port can be configured in the dataserver setup menu. For a comprehensive list of ports see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers Note: the W2K-1 can act as an Access point which can be connected to directly using the IP address 192.168.4.1 or else it can join an existing Wi-Fi network as a client and it will utilise the IP address provided by the networks DHCP server. The port number is tacked on to the IP address e.g. <IP Address>:<Port number> which is then used by the network software to route the data to the corresponding software application. Hope this helps :)

@billdomb 3 месяца назад
@@Actisense Lost me on this one. Not sure WHAT it means. So far--hallelujah--we were able to install the W2K into our backbone and connect it with the network. Next, will have to look at getting it talking with Timezero. Thanks for your efforts!

Is it possible to connect a Marine radio to the chartplotter (Lowrance) via nomea 2000 adapter?
@Actisense
@Actisense 4 месяца назад
Hi there, if the radio is NMEA 0183, it will need to go through an Actisense NGX-1 onto the NMEA 2000 backbone. If the radio is NMEA 2000 already, then you should be able to connect it to the backbone and the chartplotter will pick it up. Happy sailing ⛵

I'm about to have a stroke or a heart attack trying to figure out if I need the actisense AIS or just the standard ISO when wanting to connect my AIS radio (Standard Horizon gx2150) to my Raymarine extremely super unnecessarily complicated money scheme piece of crap STNG system so I can share AIS data
@Actisense
@Actisense 6 месяцев назад
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. We offer an NGW-1-AIS that is preconfigured for 38400 baud AIS data. However as they’ve been replaced by the NGX, depending on stock and dealer, you may find you need to purchase an NGX and configure it using Actisense Toolkit to operate at 38400 baud for AIS data. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch again and raise a ticket with our tech support team here: actisense.zohodesk.eu/portal/en/newticket

At this point if I can just feed gps data from my Axiom 7 plotter through the NGW-1 ISO (I already bought) to my GX2150 radio so I can get AIS alarm on my radio I'd be good with that. Can you help?

No advice how to wire up the device to allow the programming. A very poor video. The manual talks about serial port connection. Who uses serial ports these days. It then says down load an adaptor that takes you to an obsolete device that is then superseded. The device is for the actisense Pro. It doesn't tell you how to wire it. No help

Disagree with comment about recreational boaters spending money on gear like it’s a hobby. It sounds like a licence to charge what you like. Maybe that’s one of the reasons marine gear is so expensive - this false notion that boat owners are rich?

Getting a "page" on an MFD to show the data in graphic form is where the functionality gap persists. Yes the data is on the network but getting on a display (Suzuki C10 for instance) is difficult without the company (Suzuki) providing a "page" setup for the sender. Am I missing something?

I bought one of these to connect a NASA Clipper wind transducer to a Raymarine Axiom 7 chart plotter. It simply didn't work. After going back and forth with the engineers at Clipper and Antisense for some time and trying every adjustment they suggested, I was left with each company blaming the other for the failure. I gave up and sold the Antisense device on eBay. In the meantime, Clipper came out with their own NMEA 0183 to 2000 converter. I bought that, installed it, and it worked instantly.

I got quite excited when I saw the notification but the title is way off, this is just "we show you the bare minimum bits you need for a non-functional NMEA 2000 network backbone, not connected to anything and with nothing attached to anything else" - I thought I might at least see the NGT-1 and power cable I just bought connected :(
@Actisense
@Actisense 2 года назад
Hi Geoff we are sorry to hear that the video didn't fulfil your expectations and your feedback is welcome on how we would improve our content. If there are any subjects you would like us to cover in future then please let us know and we will do our best to do so. The minimum requirements covered in this video are from the NMEA, which detail that a network requires a minimum of 2 certified NMEA 2000 devices to be present on the network. With the requirements met, the network is actually a fully functional system, with both devices communicating together on the CAN bus. We chose to not use specific examples of certified devices in this video to avoid any confusion for viewers, but to clarify, ANY 2 certified NMEA 2000 devices both present on the network will work. If you'd like any further support or guidance with our products and their connectivity, please raise a ticket on our help desk system, and one of the engineering team will be happy to assist you further - desk.zoho.eu/portal/actisense/en/newticket

All sounds easy. I have twin Detroit 4-71TIs on my boat. So I can leave my analog gauges right where they are and just run secondary wire to your unit? I'm looking to be able to view all that information on my Raymarine Axiom 9.
@Actisense
@Actisense 2 года назад
Hi Ryan, that's correct, the EMU-1 can operate with the gauges left in circuit, the wires simply need to be tapped off the gauge. Diagrams explaining this are located within the EMU-1 user manual - actisense.com/acti_downloads/emu-1-user-manual/

@Actisense
@Actisense 2 года назад
Hi, I am glad to hear you'll be installing an EMU-1 on your network. As for the tachometer readings, no you don't need anything special as the EMU-1 has Tacho inputs. The only thing that needs to be configured is the PPR. To configure the device, an Actisense NGT-1 is required.

Is there a way to do the connection by Blue Tooth?
@Actisense

Currently, there is no upgrade / configuration method that uses Bluetooth. The EMU-1 is configured and upgraded via Actisense Toolkit which is a PC Application, and an Actisense NGT-1-USB which is an NMEA 2000 to PC interface device. Wireless configuration might be possible in the future, but we can’t provide any dates on this yet.
