New video every Wednesday! 🤘 Mostly a fan of extreme metal and progressive rock, but I like to cover a mix of genres to keep things interesting.
I'm a self-taught drummer and played for three years throughout school before spending the next 15 years playing on and off due to apartment living and corporate life. After a company wide layoff, I had a lot more time on my hands decided to pick up my sticks and start recording and posting here on RU-vid.
Drummers that have inspired me the most are Danny Carey, Dave Lombardo, Gavin Harrison, Hellhammer, and Nick Barker.
Some of my favorite bands are Enslaved, Slayer, Emperor/Ihsahn, Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson, Korn, In Flames, and Elder.

Id also like to say, that some of that 90s stuff is the shit to jam to. RHCP's Blood sugar sex magick all the way. Chad is one of my all time biggest influences. Funky as a FREAK yo lol. there are some seriously fun tracks to jam to on that album. Pearl Jam's TEN album, same there, and just pick any soundgarden album; Being a fellow drummer, Like Suicide" off Superunkown is DOPE to play, and you my man will love it ;) Just wait for the drop. literally gives my neurodivergent brain the chills. Cheers from Canada eh!
I agree! There are tons of awesome 90s songs to play, sometimes it’s hard to choose what to spend the time practicing, recording, etc. I will definitely check out some of those suggestions, I’m always interested in learning new songs!
Sweet cover my dude! Quite the fancy kit ya got there eh. How bouncy do you find that mesh snare vs say a standard remo coated or even pinstripe style head on a traditional acoustic kit? That weird change in feel between my acoustics and my Dtx pads (yamaha) is really off putting for me. They are the rubber style pads from the last ice age I would assume. Thanks for taking the time to share. Click Click and done!
Thank you, I appreciate that! The mesh head is pretty bouncy, but my main issue is that it’s slippery. So, when playing ghost notes or a fast roll the tip of the stick doesn’t grip the head and kind of slips a bit. The transition between the mesh head and the other Yamaha pads was weird at first, but I’ve gotten used to it I guess 😄. I used to have the rubber pads (TP120) and they are a lot harder compared to the silicone pads that I have now, so I can see that being uncomfortable mixing them with an acoustic kit. Thanks again for watching!
That's cool. I been looking into getting a small drum kit because my 6 year old daughter is absolutely drum crazy. As it stands she uses a broken down washing machine in the backyard as a drum and the neighbours despise her for it.
Hell yeah lets go 🔥. Keep it up.. (Just me nitpicking: The audio is a bit delayed in the export. A bit weird to watch the drums when the snare is hit before you hear the sound)
🥁 The modules and pads are Yamaha, and the snare and bass drums are acoustic drums with mesh heads and triggers. If you want to check out more, I include everything I use in this link: kit.co/sastrugidrums
That’s awesome, have fun with the new double pedal! I remember these three songs helped me build up my double bass skills when I was starting out: Amorphis’ Drowned Maid, In Flames’ Artifacts of the Black Rain and Hypocrisy’s Fractured Millennium. Thanks for watching! 🤘
Thank you! Both of the modules have an aux input and an output jack for headphones. I have a stereo cable plugged into the headphone jack of the DTX502, the other end is plugged into the aux input of the DTXtremeIIs module. The DTX502 output is routed to the DTXtreme module so whatever I play on the DTX502 is heard through the DTXtreme.
Nice cover dude and nice mix!! Your snare trigger system is from 682drums??Are you satisfyed from it?I have played too this lovely song but with my kit when it is acoustic!!
Thank you, your cover is awesome! I took your advice and adjusted the volume of the drums a bit. The triggers I use on my bass and snare drum are from www.extremedrums.com . They are a little expensive compared to other triggers, but they’re heavy-duty and very responsive.
@@sastrugidrums Thanks!! Extreme ??Oh i think i see a video with an oldman did a commercial for these triggers! He said that these have better dynamics than other brands but i didn't listen so clear at his videos and i ignored him and make my triggers from scratch.I think and is light cleared that he liying, triggers without some short circuit hasn't any difference! His build is almost near to same as mine with piezzo transducers alone and inputs, nothing different from the total triggers exists. So how he means the different dynamics? It's a Marketing trick i believe to sell much products.
