This is a channel with road trip videos from Ireland.

Hi. My name is Dolf. I'm a Dutch photographer, living in the south-west of Ireland. My partner and I take a lot of road trips in Ireland and I take loads of photos, which you can find on my DigitalDolf Photography Facebook page and Wordpress page. My partner Orla said I should get a GoPro camera and use it to record videos of our daytrips, just from the car. So I did. Nothing fancy. No flashy editing. Just a camera wedged in the side window of the front passenger door recording the journey from the car. So you're kinda in the car, driving on Irish roads. Every now and then we get out for a walk and I take some shots of the surrounding landscape, seascape or buildings.

This is slow-video. Just stream it to your TV or watch it on your computer screen, sit back and relax.

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up. We went a few weeks ago and it's been a few years since your video and the place has become completely overgrown you can't even find the path anymore. We found a different path and sort of fought our way through the weeds and then the hill climbing up to the castle is so overgrown it was nearly impossible to get up there. It doesn't look anything like it does in your video anymore. It's really sad. It still look like somebody lived in the house, but they're not taking care of the property at all.

That's a curious road choice... I prefer to drive the Beara peninsula clockwise. Caha Pass, Glenngarriff, Adrigole, Castletownbere (good place for lunch), Dursey Island and cable car, Allihies, Eyeries and back to Kenmare following the shore road. In your video, it seems you've missed the best places as Dursey and Allihies...

At the begining I'm reminded of this one time I went up to Connemara and later on noticed "Oh, my side view mirror is gone." I made a guess where it was, but I couldn't find it.

Long before electricity was ever invented this area between the mountains was called the [ BLACK VALLEY ] Reason it is shaded from direct SUN LIGHT even on the brightest of days , I hope you don,t mind being given knowledge from a Native of the area , Thanks for the video enjoying the Hill Of HOME.

We recently went down there again - I'm the driver in these videos, by the way - and stopped in Sneem for a little while. It really is such a pretty village, and there's a lovely bookshop there where you can also buy paintings andprints from local artists. The bookshop has a great secondhand section with some absolute classics in there.

Thank you for enjoying your magical journey. This landscape is perfection. Each flowering bush and every stone seems to be placed in this landscape by the hand of a designer with impeccable a sense of beauty. I have a selection of "the most beautiful tracks" on RU-vid, and I send your video to this playlist.

Eyeries is in Cork, nice video by the way.
@digitaldolf
@digitaldolf 2 года назад
Yes, I know Eyeries is in Cork. That's why, if you read the introduction text under the video, you would have seen that I made a rectification and wrote that I made a mistake in the intro because I call it Beara peninsula County Kerry and it should be County Cork and Kerry, as a small part of the peninsula is in County Kerry. I can't do it in the video because I have to replace it and would lose the comments, etc.

There is a little boreen going up the hill from the main road. When we were there is was accessible and no sign saying you can't go up. At the end of the boreen we parked the car at an open space near the houses that are there and walked up to the castle. When you're there, drive up and check. Sometimes road access situations do change.

I'm so sorry but this was just about the most anaemic interpretation of the drive from Shannon to the Bridges of Ross that I could ever imagine, I wouldn't make me want to drive it had I not done so many times before. It was a lovely day for the journey though.
@IrelandRoadTrips

I'm sorry it is not up to your expectations. Each to their own. I can't please everyone. Btw it is not an interpretation. It is the actual drive and that's all this channel does: it shows the actual drives.

@@digitaldolf I watched the video again and I see that I made a mistake in the introduction in the video by calling it County Kerry. If I get a chance I will change that because it has to be County Cork and Kerry in this video. It would have been more helpful if you had pointed that out in a clearer way. I don't mind feedback. Everyone makes mistakes, but it took me a while now, to see that the mistake was in the intro. I put a rectifiation in the text with video 1 and 2 and will change it in the videos at some stage but that is a lot of work + I will have to re-render the videos and reupload the videos. Will have to look into that if I can do it without losing comments and likes. Beara is partly in Cork and partly in Kerry. If you read the blurb with the video, you will see that I talk about crossing the Healy Pass into County Kerry and if you look at the map, you will see that is correct. And I don't know what you mean by "arrive from nowhere", as I've been living in Ireland for the past 21 years.
