Are you naturally an open handed player, or is this something you've adopted after previously playing right hand lead? I'm open handed and have a similar setup, with a floor either side. Ride to the left of the hats. Play lots of right hand lead fills to the right of the kit, requiring diddles to get back to left hand lead, or just a unison stroke on the 1 of the next bar.

I’m 14, and I’ve begun practicing single stroke technique hours everyday. I kinda taught myself a very finger-driven technique, but I found it to be quite inadequate. I can do 270 bpm speed (2 strokes per beat) on each hand, but not for long. I couldn’t do it for longer than 32 beats on either hand. It’s really cool you’ve curated your own technique, I’m definitely gonna be studying this.
