It seems the 3rd and 4th fingers give the high fast gear…and bounce even on the black pad….thanks for great lesson.

….keep watching….start slow and look at the 3rd and 4th fingers. You must practice ….it will not come all at once. But it will. Good Luck

Dribble your stick like a basketball between the surface and the spot where your thumb and index finger make a pivot. It's basically controlled dribbling.
@JAYg33t4r
@JAYg33t4r 11 месяцев назад
Oh and the 3rd and 4th fingers do little trigger pulls right as the stick head connects which keeps it tight to the surface vs rebounding up far so you can pull again with the dribble.

Hey Riccardo, thanks for this great lesson and insight of your playing! I'm a drum teacher myself and do drum camps from time to time - when we talk about technique always someone brings in your name and asks about the trembling-thing... 😉👍🏼 When i look at my own technique, i can absolutely relate to what you said: It is already there as a kind of natural piece of wrist motion and you built it up and created a new tool in all detail. I'll check that out for sure and even if someone doesn't want to play as fast or doesn't usw this in a musical situation - it's absolute worth it to learn more about your hands and for more control+feel! So thank you very much and all the best to you. Keep up your hard work and greetings from Germany! Jochen 🥁✌🏼😎

This is impressive. You start at 150/160, it takes me 20 minutes to work up to 150. My approach has always been to remain relaxed, no tension in the fingers or hands, forearms. I can do the trembling thing but I don't have much control over it. Great exercises for sure!

Riccardo, do you have any videos (extreme or just teaching) of gravity blasting on the snare rim? Come on😁, we'd be interested to see how far you can push the envelope.

Hey Riccardo, you should try to apply some of this technique to Peter Magadini's Polyrhythm exercises. I bet you would create radical textures with fast 5s and stuff ❤

Amazing technique! Is the butt of the stick touching your palm at any point? Usually I avoid this but on low rebound surfaces sometimes I use the rebound of the palm. Is this what you are doing?

Riccardo, I purchased the written course The Killer Speed Secret and have worked on the first part of the course and want to buy the second part of the course but can not find it on your site(s) . Please tell me where to get it please. Also can not seem to get any faster because of the " trembling" action". I hope the other part will help me achive that. Any help will be appreciated.

With single strokes roll at 160 (32th notes) for 1 minute straight you would beat the world record with 1280 strokes per minute

My English may be a little bad. I'm just wondering this and I don't know if anyone else thinks like me. He uses both hands separately. However, there is no exercise in the form of a single stroke that combines both hands. That is, he develops the hands separately on his own, but does he automatically reach that speed as soon as he combines the two? So I didn't see Merlini working single stroke normally (using both hands separately) How does he reach this speed when he works with one hand and combines the two after a level? Can someone enlighten me on this? I also think about this: I've been working with one hand for a long time. And when I accelerate and put both hands together I get a quick single stroke. I think after a certain speed, there is a fast double-handed single stroke rate unintentionally.

@basscaptain26
@basscaptain26 Год назад
@@manosliapakisthestormrider8099 it's not necessarily how his personal technique is, it's more about you developing the technique through exercises and feeling it out. But if you're play flat match grip (hand is horizontal to the drum), try rotating your hands to about 45° and see how it feels. But as I stated in the beginning, his "tremble" technique isn't necessarily a technique... its really hard to describe, but you ever stretch so hard your legs or arms shake? It's kind of like that. The exercises are meant to take you to that point and teach you to control it
