Your completely correct in that if we are paying a certain pricepoint we except certain things & when those products dont meet the quality for the price well then its immediate disappointment bc we know we could've bought something for less for the same quality, right? Did that make sense? Felt a little rambly lol
I have a few beauty creators that I love ( they're old school & very real ) but I never thought I'd find another that I liked & BELIEVED ( that's the key word ) until you! I genuinely trust your opinions & I am so incredibly grateful for you. I just wanted you to know that especially on those shit days remember people like me that are thankful for you.
Re: tubing mascaras, my favorite is Thrive (and I have dark lashes, so I go light on it) and my second favorite, which is a lighter formula, is Elf Lash XTNDR. At $7 per tube (and Elf has brown), that’s my usual choice.
Random query…. Could you make a video discussing excellent luxury products with good color ranges that have the healthiest ingredients. I don’t mean actives. I mean formulations designed to be healthy for the skin and thus not be negatives. I don’t want to sacrifice health for aesthetics via makeup. Most recommendations in this area are either not detailed enough in analysis or they don’t have the broad range of makeup to compare. Your view would be helpful.
Hey, I appreciate your question. I spent the entire year of 2019 testing and reviewing only brands that self-identified as clean. Among many things I learned was that there is no consensus on "good" vs "bad" ingredients, and to quote cosmetic chemists, "the dose makes the poison." I feature a lot of brands that claim to be clean, but this is a touchy area because the community seeking "non-toxic" beauty have a tendency to become more and more exclusive about what is considered okay to use, and it's impossible as a creator to cater to that.
Ok I kinda like the mascara. Actually, no I DO like the mascara. But the spf face product she released?? The component is so so so pretty but the formulaaaaa- it is one shade and it is straight up Kardahsian bronze. I’m keeping it for posterity but I have no idea why. Actually that’s not true. Who am I kidding, I could return it but I’m keeping it because the packaging is pretty and it was expensive and my capacity for radical self acceptance is limited. 🥂
I am unfortunately well into the Sarah Creal demographic and this is the best concealer I have ever used (and I have tried them all). It is the first concealer that made my deep and very dark circles plus under-eye wrinkles look almost acceptable. I think I would be willing to pay even more for the concealer (don’t tell Sarah lol). Not impressed at all by the lipstick though.
Thanks Kackie, you really took the hit for us on this one by the looks of it, hell would have to freeze over with ice before I spent that much Australian dollars on a defective package of clear balm lol but I appreciate you are here so we don't have to xo
I think plain old Vaseline gives the same look as that lip balm, honestly. I can't wear tubing mascara because they irritate my eyes for some reason. Sticking with my Fenty Eaze Drops for now, thanks.❤❤❤
No, no, no! Cosmetics for aging skin? That’s about as bad as No. 7’s skincare for menopausal skin. I saw it @ Walgreens. I asked the cashier if it was a big seller. She said it was moved to the front because nobody was buying it. Yes, I’d really want to have that where someone could see it. The cashier said most women, all ages, were offended by it. Anyway, I’m not interested in trying her products. I honestly think they are overpriced. But, I do appreciate your review.😊
Theory: the influx of "Sephora exclusive" brands (esp fragrance) are developed in coordination with LVMH/Sephora, driven by marketing and only meant to last a few years. Edit: I see people saying this brand is self funded so maybe it doesn't apply here but I still think it's relevant (e.g. Phlur or the like).
I super appreciate that you did this real and honest review. The brand had me intrigued, but the price tag was pretty intimidating. When I swatched items in Sephora recently I was honestly underwhelmed…it’s nice to hear another viewpoint on the brand. I think I’ll be holding off for something better.
I have to admit FaceFlex covers this 55 yo’s acne blemishes more realistically than anything I’ve ever tried. Got it in 3.0-peachy. I’m fair but it works.
Below a certain percentage lactic acid is really just a humectant, it plumps the skin, not enough to make it fuller really, but just to fill in fine lines. In a low % it doesn't exfoliate or make the skin more vulnerable to UV.
I’m 36 and don’t consider my age old by any means HOWEVER my skin is aging and for me it’s just so disheartening that brands will capitalize on that and jack up the prices just because men and women are considered to be of a certain age demographic. Same with skincare. I do not look forward to how pricy my skincare and cosmetic lifestyle is gonna cost me in the future.
I’m 52 years old and I WISH I had been opened to lower priced makeup. A lot of us with mature skin are realizing that Tower 28:concealer works great for us. I trusted a suggestion from a Sephora team member and they were right!
Check out the pinned comment. They don't pay to win but after the first five products they submit they do have to pay to be considered, AND they have to pay to use the seal if they do win.
I’m just gonna say…the foundcealer looks literally amazing like I might need to have a go with it 😍 let’s go Sephora savings event! Would not pay 58 lol
I'm here for snark. To be honest, I don't understand the point of a light coverage concealer. If I need to conceal something...I need to conceal something. Good for you if you don't; just wear a skin tint! And girl, same. I'm never buying a non-tubing mascara ever again. Period. Full stop. Never again will I have to scrub mascara off of my eyes.
I have the concealer in shade 2, I am fair olive and it works great. Not orange at all. The concealer and the eye cream work best together. I am 42 and am starting to have to work with fine lines and using the combo I have no issues. Also I think the mascara is really good. I am coming to the realization that in order to not look too make-upy, less is more. I think this line is following that same thought process.
@@kackie The packaging is nothing to write about but I really like the concealer. I'm almost 62 and I don't find it creases on me nor does it make my understand look like prunes.
I feel like if the shade range was good it might not feel like an aging tax. But I can’t even try it out bc there’s just not a single shade in the entire makeup line that would work for me. Total pass.
The concept is intriguing (I was intrigued!), but yeah, the price is excessive for the teeny tiny bottle. I’m so glad you reviewed this, so my curiosity is quelled; the end. I love it when that happens. 😊
Ma'am. Please could you hold up the products you are using in the montages, I love the little speed through montage things but I'm always guessing which product you are using 😂
New to your channel and loving your reviews! I am a huge fan of westman atelier! Thank you for demoing the concelar and activator, expensive....but they work! Hope you have a better day tomorrow :)
I was tempted to buy this as well as the hydrating essence that she recommends using along with it to create more of a skincare tint, but the price point gave me pause and I would like to be able to try it in store before I take the plunge at that price. I too kept saying Sarah Cereal as I was browsing her line on the website haha. Not sure if I really need this, although it does look very nice on you.
Thank you for this review. Sali Hughes, a British beauty journalist, reviewed a couple of pieces from the brand recently and mentioned that she felt (having toured a lot of factories) that money went into the design of the mascara brush, which could explain the price. It's worth noting that the brand is entirely self-funded which must be a factor in the small range of colours available for the concealer. Also I read that the amount of lactic acid in the lip balm is tiny and is there to aid absorption of the actives. I'm in the UK so can't purchase yet, but I will support the brand when it hopefully launches here...because I'm 55 and frankly f**ked off with beauty being marketed to much younger people. Your skin looks particularly beautiful in this video so I'm taking that as a good sign that the concealer has a lovely finish!
I have and love most of the Westman Atelier minis (biscuit/doudou/petal/nectar) but use Chanel Sublimage concealer (I decant it from the glass jar which I dislike). Haven't tried the WA concealer yet because I love Sublimage so much (expensive but lasts 1.5 years for me).
