i have known John and Olivia.for many years, I so long i was at John wedding, trust me there is no other women than his wife, he and Olivia have been the best of friends for many many years... John was a wreck when Olivia passed away, he said to me it was like losing a sister. i still tear up when thinking of Olivia's passing
I’m yet to see a better duet with more passion and chemistry than this one. Give me chills every time. I so glad you can see the performance for what it was, magical.
Thanks for this review, Andrea. Australian here - both John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John are Australian icons, especially for my generation (Boomers). I happen to be a fan of yours also, ever since you appeared on a few Dovydas videos.
Both ONJ and JF are more than just singers. ONJ has had major acting roles in several movies including playing Sandy in the highly successful movie "Grease". JF has been one of the main characters in several major stage productions including playing Jesus for the entire season of the Australian stage production of "Jesus Christ Superstar". This pair have certainly earned their acting chops and it shows every time they perform either individually or as a duo act. They have also been friends and fellow performers in the same music industry, probably close friends, since their teenage years or early twenties.
Ty for your reaction to 2 aussie legends, from a time when the word Legend meant something. They were the best friends for a very long time and the kiss was simply love from one dear friend to another. A song that John made famous and when the three of them did this series of shows John Olivia and another great singer Anthony Warlow (Phantom of The Opera Fame) John asked Olivia to do a duet of this great song. John is now recovering from major cancer throat and jaw surgery and a major infection scare but he is home thankfully but may never sing again, God bless you mate and TY for the endless song list we have to look back with love..RIP our sweet "Livy" we miss you darling Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤❤❤🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵
This concert was 1 1/2 hrs. long. He gets better. The orchestra give him an ovation with their instruments. Pity Youyube has split it up. I used to watch/listen to in whole. Believe me gets better. See his version of the Beatle's "Help". after an hour of singing. His greatest performance. Sadly he's had throat and mouth cancer, 26 surgeons working for 12 hours to help our beloved " Voice". We may never hear those pipes again but he's made his mark and is riding his horses on his farm and healing. He comes from my town and I know he's a fun, gentleman and a good generous guy.
They are really great friends in this show when they kiss they fan each other you have to watch the entire show it's called the main event trust me you will enjoy it
This song was originally written for John, but they turned it into as duet for this series of concerts. BTW John has been very happily married for more than 50 years, but lots of men had crushes on Olivia, and he was no exception ☺️
I would like to recommend you react John Farnham singing The Reason Why from the 1994 ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards with Richard Marx.
❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 It's not really a cover when the co-writer of the song is right next to her playing the piano. The other person who co-wrote this song, BC Jean, sang it first and then Beyonce covered it with a lot more commercial success and so people tend to believe that it is her song when it is not. Toby asked Angelina to sing his song on his upcoming album Piano Diaries, and you hear the result here. The song that he and Angelina wrote together, Bad Valentine, is well worth listening to as well.
The next song in this concert was John singing John Travolta’s part in You’re the One that I Want from Grease. Very humorous after this romantic duet. Thanks for your reaction. Olivia had said that John was her favourite singer.
Thank you for your terrific Reaction and appreciation of our two Aussie legends, John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John! No they didn't date, however I understand they have always been best friends with the greatest respect for each other. Please watch many more from this awesome concert called 'The Main Event' also with Anthony Warlow. Also please react to John Farnham and Olivia N-J. singing 'Dare To Dream' at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games opening Ceremony. xoxoxo
This song is about the heartbreak of finally finding your soulmate when the other is already committed to marriage. The eternal torment of soul lovers torn by commitment.
Thank you for doing more John! Subbed as I love your genuine and knowledgeable & insightful reactions, hoping to see you do more, there is so much from him to discover :)
I love your voice. I personally prefer this song sung by John alone, but that is not to say that I don’t love this duet. It is just that when he does it solo you get some sneak peaks into some vocal acrobatics that he doesn’t get a chance to show off in the duet. Nonetheless both are lovely.
Just the most beautiful duet by two of the most beautiful performers and people on the planet. Miss you Livvie ❤❤❤ Thank you Andrea for a great reaction. ❤❤
John is married to the love of his life, he did ask permission before the kiss. Olivia (RIP) and John were such great friends. As he said during an earlier interview; "I'm married, not dead" when he was appreciating beautiful women. Yes, and such a gentleman; turning his head before he belts out some high notes; I imagine he would blow your ear drums out being so close if not careful. Pure talent and entertainment from both of them.
Oh dear, tears for two beautiful voices, and tears for the loss of Olivia. This is just so beautifu, their voices merge so exquisitely. June'24. UK. E ❤
Love this performance, as u said its very cinematic! John even politely turns his head before belting. Boy john and Olivia are classy legends ❤ Oh exactly, very rare to see raw talent anymore! Such a shame.
You remind me of dido vocally when you sing you just cruise through your songs almost spoken at times ...relaxing 😅 farnham and olivia are 2 of Australia's best ever...nice reaction.
Thank you for your insightful reaction and sincere reaction, Andrea. This is truly a beautiful performance by John and Olivia 🥹 ❤ RIP Olivia, and I hope John is recovering very well 💞 🇦🇺
This is the most beautiful and romantic duet of all time. The knew each other since they were teenagers, and DID love each other, although they were never together. John was the last person Livvie spoke to before she passed and he was devastated when she died. You should read his public statement when she passed.
I love your new song..❤ That kiss was just for the performance. They are both not only great singers but also great actors and definately could have been a dramatic love scene in a movie. Having said that they have actually been very close freinds since they were teens in the 60's, but have never dated. John has been married to the love of his life Jill since the early 70's. Which is a whole other love story. ❤❤
I don’t understand why reactors always jump to these conclusions- love duets have been done for hundreds of years and chemistry isn’t a rare thing in stage performances .. people said the same of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper yet they were just good friends 😊
@@FionaEm oh I wasn’t giving her a hard time my comment was a more general observation that many reactors tend to jump to the conclusion. Andrea knows i love her and her voice.
