So funny you showed the Gaylord Texan. You can see that building from my parents back yard, but it wasn’t there in 1985 when my parents had their home built. I love the Gaylord Texan but I don’t live there so Im sure many neighbors were upset when it went up.
Living in Dallas is vile . Absolutely one of the ugliest , dullest and culturally backward cities in America. Murderous summer heat , winter ice storms , racial tension, swarming mosquitos, poor restaurants, very few green walking spaces and the poor proximity to escaping the concrete hell. I was born here , so don't even F-ing start .
As an Australian, looks like Pest control could make for a job opportunity. I wouldn't kill anything though, I'd just ask them politely to bugger off. That's how we do it here.
One thing you forgot is toll rod it adds up A LOT a day. For family TX is amazing!!! Depends on what phase of life you are. From suburb on CA we went to Frisco now back to OC I would say house is a huge difference of price but again house is your business and the amount of Equity you make is larger compared to TX. All depends. Not to mention weather is TX is horrible and CA is amazing!!! No HOA certain areas and property tax so low. Good comparison

It seems that everyone has been programmed to update update update (and the updates are usually crap plastic and fiberboard crap that is inferior) and flippers are gutting the souls out of mid-century homes here in Florida, completely destroying history. Most of the time, there is nothing horribly wrong with the home. I think it's gotten really absurd. We are a horrible lot, the human race - how we copy each other and we copy each other so long that we lose site of what is absurd. Clean the home and declutter the home and maybe fix things that need fixing, but enough with the damn update update update, especially you deplorable flippers.

Austin’s downtown has really grown over the years. I also like the Hill Country it sits next to. With that said, I pick Dallas. Austin is just a nice weekend trip and usually that’s to the Hill Country.
Please do houses by price per sq ft. That varies by neighborhood, hard to compare. But utilities are ridiculous in Texas, year 'round, property taxes aren't going down, that's a fallacy. As people move to Texas, and overpay for houses, house values rise. "Top cities" in Texas are being ruined! Californian conservatives
