California is highest population but not the largest. Texas is way bigger and Alaska is wayyyyyyy bigger. The Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington) and Hawaii are our favorites. Montana is also gorgeous as is Colorado. Arizona has a lot going for it as far as the Sedona area and the Grand Canyon.

The AGM-84 Harpoon missile is an American made Anti-Ship, sea skimming missile, with a range of about 75-80 nautical miles, it is incredibly flexible, and can be employed in a number of ways, they can be launched from a vertical launching system, they can be launched from armored box launchers, or they can be fired/dropped from either Tactical or Strategic aircraft. and they can be launched from submarines also.

Our BBQ is a combination of the low and slow method of european braising but with our more fragrant woods which over 16 hours can infuse huge amounts of smoke and their own natural flavor. Combine that with a very thick dry rub which turns into the bark of the BBQ, and it should be flavorful enough to eat by itself.

America is the most beautiful country in the world by volume and natural diversity. We have a somewhat "unfair" advantage because the country is so massive but there are other countries of similar size without the same volume and diversity as the US.

Soul food originates from the American South from the cuisine of enslaved Africans. People usually mix up Southern food and Soul Food because some of the dishes overlap. The main difference is preparation and seasonings used.

You purchase stamps at the post office or online & then when you need to mail something, you have stamps on hand. ~ As for air conditioning, we definitely need it with the hot weather, but we don't keep it freezing cold. I like knowing it's summer. I just don't want to melt. LOL ~ For garbage disposals, you scrape the worst of the mess into the trash, then rinse the remnants into the disposal. Not a ton of garbage.~ The icemaker up top is so you can get ice from the front of the closed refrigerator.

This song has a long long history.... This video was recorded in 1977 on Long Island, New York. The lead singer is Bill Bartlett, he was the lead singer in a band called 'Starstruck' prior to being the lead singer in this video with the band in this video. Ram Jam did not actually play this song.... they just filmed it to look like they were playing this song. The music in this video came from the band call StarStruck with Bill Bartlett. Also, the music is totally from the StarStruck album.... but they did some heavy edits to that StarStruck song to make this song/video.....and yes, Bill Bartlett was in both bands... he purchased the rights to this song from the StarStruck band members and then created a new band called Ram Jam....Bill Bartlett is NOT the lead singer for this band (Ram Jam)... actually Myke Scavone is the lead singer for the band... but obviously not in this video... Myke Scavone is the guy clapping his hands on the left side of video....(Left of Bill Bartlett) This song is actually a country music song..... check out Starstruck Black Betty.... He is singing about Betty Page... Betty Page is a white chick that was well known in the 1950's, and was known as Black Betty back then ... he just plain ol thinks she was sexy.... Search RU-vid for this> "The Story of Black Betty by Ram Jam" This dudes YT name is Brutality In Buddha He tracked down Bill Bartlett and got a phone interview with him and recorded the conversation... this happen 3 or 4 years ago, and Bill was like 78 years old.. anyway, Bill explains the backstory of how and why he choose this song to do a cover on.... The origin of the song started with Lead Belly, but Bill put his own twist on it....

There is a proper ratio between ice and pop. If there is the right ratio it doesn’t water down your drink. You are supposed to still have ice when you’re done. Then you change the ice out for the next drink.

The most probably reason mass transit (trains and busses) did not materialize here in the US is this. SIZE of the country. Wait, what? So you'd think that a country as large as the US would almost be a prime candidate for massive mass transit infrastructure, right? Well, at first it kinda was. In the 1800s. But when the automobile was invented in the early 1900s, it was quickly discovered that a car could go to more places than any train could ever could. And the automobile replaced horses as the main mode of transportation. Horses of course played a major role in settling the West in the 1800s. The automobile just became the modern replacement for the horse. It's much easier to build a network of roads to allow a person to drive their own car or truck to wherever they wanna go rather than laying down railroad tracks and running trains to everywhere which require train stations as embarking and debarking points, right? That may work in Europe where your towns are relatively close and compact to where walking the towns are more doable. But because America is so large, the towns are spread out and aren't that walkable once there, as the towns are spread out as well. It'd take you all day just to walk to the store, and then how do you get your haul back home? Now, regarding our pickup culture, even though we may not be hauling or pulling something at a given moment, doesn't mean we won't be before we're done with that particular trip. As you might know (or not) we have a lot of large appliances, especially Refrigerators, TVs, and Washers/Dryers. Our pickups is how we get those items home. We don't typically use store delivery services. We haul our purchases ourselves. Pickups serve that purpose very well. We also use our pickups for work trucks. You would be amazed at how many people use them that way to haul their equipment in. Lawn Care Services are a fairly big industry here. I can't tell you how many people I see pulling trailers with their lawn mowers and other equipment on. And that's another thing. I don't think Europeans quite understand how much lawn care is a part of owning a Suburban or Rural home in the US. In fact, many city folk who have lived in high rise apartments who eventually move out to the Burbs or Rural areas don't realize that lawn care becomes a part of their lifestyle after that. Another use for pickups and other 4-wheel drive vehicles is Off-Roading. As large and extensive as our road network is, there's still PLENTY of areas where there are no roads to get to where you wanna go, so having an off-road capable vehicle is very beneficial. A lot of the area out West is devoid of improved roads, so off-roading thru the desert is very common. In fact, check out a couple of the driving videos on the YT channel (@AdventureEveryDay) from some of the National Parks out West. I believe their Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks videos are on dirt roads thru the parks. Very interesting videos to watch. In fact, that whole channel has some very good 4K videos of scenic drives in America. I'm not in any way associated with the channel, but I'd love to see some European reactors react to some of its videos.

Hey Mauro, I'm half-Italian/half-Lithuanian 3rd Generation American. My Italian side came from the Grape Vinyard region just east of Verona in northern Italy there in a town called Soave (12 miles southeast of downtown Verona on E70). Most of my ancestral relatives still live there as only one out of all the siblings of my great grandfather came over to the US. My paternal family did grow somewhat here, but currently there's not very many of us left. However. I recently learned that one of your Italian Olympian athletes shares my surname. So it's a good chance that she, yes she, is a distant relative of mine. She is a pole vaulter that is apparently very good.

Waitstaff is one of the few jobs that you can make a decent living without a college degree. A lot of single parents can earn enough money to not be on public assistance that way. They can make way more than minimum wage. We like to lift each other up. We celebrate each other’s successes. It’s a big part of our culture. Is it like that in Italy? I have heard people say that it’s not like that is a lot of European countries… Is that true? The date thing is an organization thing I think… when the numbers are catalogued by the first number so they would all the date that are the 20th of month would be put together instead of being sorted by month. That seem crazy to me. Example if you need to find a bank transaction from last month you just look up that month and they pop right up… if it’s sorted my the first number in other formats wouldn’t you get the 20th of every month first… maybe I am just not understanding correctly. Keep in mind she just said she was only on the west coast. East and west coast are very different My grandfather taught my when I was a little girl NEVER talk about politics or religion in polite company I don’t understand how people assume we don’t cook… I am gonna guess she wasn’t keeping up with the flow of traffic is why she got yelled at. If you are on the expressway and can’t go faster then 60 you have to stay in the first lane. The barefoot thing depends on where you are at. They don’t care so much in the south Another long comment… lol the only other video I have seen is her reaction to kids bullying riding and I found her comments a little insulting but this one was very nice. Like I said tho… she has only been to the west coast not the east coast or the south…. Have a great day Mauro

Hi Mauro! When my kids were young we lived on the city limit line. We had a herd of cows. Our backyard was the field lol. When my son was about 10 he had friends over flying a kite. The cows got spooked and stampeded. It was very tense for several minutes until we got the kids to safety. We also had goats in that field. One got attacked by a coyote- thats the only time i have ever fired a gun that wasn't during a target practice. I missed lol but it scared the coyote away. I have hit a deer on the highway. Unfortunately the deer died and my car needed a ton of bodywork. There are alligators in the lake 5 miles from my home. And water moccasins. And saw bear cubs raiding the trash can in the campground area of the lake. Most of the US is rather rural and where it isn't, well it used to be. So the animals are just doing what they have to do to survive.

In 2003, Toby Keith wrote a r@cist song advocating *public lynchings.* Here's a verse. “...Says ‘grandpappy told my pappy back in the day, son a man had to answer for the wicked he done, *take all the rope in Texas, find a tall oak tree, round up all them bad boys, hang them high in the tree for all the people to see.”* (Lynchings were common in the southern US following emancipation. Blacks were hung from trees by mobs of r@cists.) Another verse advocates police violence and k@lling Blacks as the solution: "'...We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds. We've got too much corruption too much crime in the streets. *It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground.'* The song is titled: "Beer For My Horses" and was co-performed with Willie Nelson. Toby Keith is not a good guy and should not be celebrated. I know that you're unaware of this Mr. Mauro. I'm politely trying to inform you.

The three richest Americans have more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population (160 million people). Wealth inequality destroys democracy. We've known this since the days of Plutarch. Wealth inequality, the chasm between the 'haves' and have nothings,' is the primary reason that our country is crumbling, the global economic order is breaking down and the drums of world war are banging. "It's socialism or barbarism," Emma Goldman warned us a hundred years ago. That's the choice. Destroy the world either by w@r or climate collapse, both driven by the contradictions of capitalism, or move on to an economic system compatible with human life and civilized society.

The way our taxes work is that they take out a percentage of our pay through out the year. At the beginning of the year file our taxes and determine how much we actually owe, and what kinds of deduction we use to make that total lower. Then they give you back the difference plus thing like child tax credits if you have children. There are other tax credits you can get too. As long as you do it all right you get a check back… if you have kids that check can average about $8,000 to $10,000 if you have kids or other tax credits. This is my experience. It will very by income and how you set up stuff when you start a job. There are a lot of factors. The people in the middle are the people who have the hardest time here. I am very low income so I get things like food stamps and free medical insurance but but people who only make a little more then me don’t get much help. We dont all have good pretty teeth. lol Isn’t it crazy vastly different life is for different people here? If you own a residence and rent it you are responsible for any condo or h.o.a. fees. Even with insurance you still have out of pocket expenses. I think he is trying to illustrate that the more money you make the more you spend…. This is how you could live. 70 hours is pretty common for executives I think I am glad you watched this I think it really helps to explain why when you ask what’s it’s like to live in America you get such different answers.
