Some people were born with silver spoons, I was born with books. Raving about books since 1994 (which is when I presumably understood how to read), now bringing that madness to video format.
If you want to choke on tears read Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim (book 1 in the series but can be read as a standalone too).... I'm reading the second book in the series and it's equally heart wrenching!
Neetu coming in with them bomb recommendations! I've had yellow crocus on my tbr for a while actually. The cover always fascinated me. But good to know you liked it!
Really enjoyed headshot. The city of Reno was overrated, the boxing ring was dilapidated, the coaches were useless and the family and friends were undependable. The eight women who were in the ring however were very real and they were giving it all they had to win.
Ooooo nice! I heard good things not excellent things but the idea of it got me really excited. So I'm glad you really enjoyed it. lol gives me more hope.
Orbital was a big miss for me. While yes, the writing was beautiful, NOTHING HAPPENS, I'm not exaggerating there is not a single iota of plot in it. Fortunately for me since it was only 130 pages i was able to push through it, but i can't say i really gained anything from it outside of a few "oh that was such a beautiful line" moments
@@SantReadshahahah yess! The “I also fight over garbage” “And this is rain!” “These two lawn chairs are left there to rot” Hahahahaa..I cracked up, idk why 😂
I love paper quality!!! One book that has stuck with me with regard to paper quality is A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. Gosh, it was glossy and thick…just wow🤌🏽💯
Happy to see you! I keep waffling about whether to read Hurricane Season because everyone seems to agree that it's really good but super brutal and im not sure I'm up for the latter! 💧🌊🐟
Oh god Hurricane Season is definitely brutal but so compulsive. Read it when you're in the mindspace because I can guarantee youre not going to want to stop. But also, thank you! Happy to be back. 💙🙃
P Manjunath is the most adorable character ever. I loved how he thought. I loved letting him take me to weird places. Amazing character. 10/10 could relate. Not annoying. Also, there isnt a 'point' to Manjunath being written like that!! He just is like that!
To give you a bit more context, Kanan likes absurdist comedy and Manjunath is perfectly absurd. Maybe having this knowledge (and what absurd comedy is) going into the book helps in enjoying a character so well written like Manjunath.
No, i get it. Absurdist humour is great. I love it as well. My favourite book is Hitchhikers Guide. Maybe Manjunath just wasn't fully my cup of tea. Not like I'd outright reject that cup of tea. Just something I'd sip warily. 😳😂
Ikrrrr manjunath was my fav character throughout the book , his humor was absurd , and is in a world of his own , heng is the serious detective in the pair, he's clueless but is not oblivious to the world around him and that in itself is humorous af
She is not ready to admit her fault, so takes time and answers everey comment in detail. What an effort. Hope you also be successful one day and face the same criticism the way you are doing to her. Then only you will realize what it takes to achieve something.
Hii, loved this haul so much true book lovers fr <3 Could you give a price of new books in all these places you went to especially bookworm? How much did you pay on an average per book and is it cheaper compared to sites like amazon?
