I’m so hyped for Yellowface, I’m hearing so many good things. Whale was one of the only books on the BI list that I didn’t want to read, but I’ve heard a few people rave about it now, I’m going to have to try it 😂
I know right?? Me too. I just want to go in with tempered expectations. Lol As for Whale, same thing. Just know it's going to have messed up shit but is still interesting stuff.
The books that have most recently made me cry my little heart out are Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens by Shankari Chandran and The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
I need that shit emoji pillow in my life so bad😭 My favourite book so far this year has to be Babel by rf kuang and that's why I read yellow face as soon as it came out. It truly is a satirical masterpiece and Rebecca let out all her frustrations through a character as ridiculous and delusional as June. I'm sure you'll love it too 💩💖
Oooooo I really got to check out Babel. I've been meaning to read it for months but I'm too nervous. Lol Let me try to think of where I got the shit emoji pillow. And I'll message back.b
Moloka'i by Alan Brennert will make you sob sob Smriti... it's one of my favourite reads this year....my other favourite read is A fine balance by rohinton Mistry... Nice top Smriti! 😊 💩🧡💛💚💖💓❣️
