Sometimes you notice something in the composition when it's played as an instrumental that may not have noticed in the vocal version. I noticed how (in the chorus) there's a beat pause and a slight but deliberate tempo change after the notes on "Wont you come" are played allowing the notes on "Wash away the rain" to just tumble out.

I AM a soundgarden fan and I ADORE Peter. But... I wasn't into the guitar only rendition with a few voice bytes here and there. Soundgarden was better in my humble opinion.
