Are you saying you loaded the HG model into Mixamo and exported it as a Mixamo model? Then you utilized the HG model which now has the Mixamo rig and retargeted the animation into the original Hg model rig? Because the characters are of the same size, then the rigs aligned the same during the retargeting process? Is this the workflow?
ohhhhh nice one!! I've tried everything all yesterday and I couldn't get mixamo to accept my model, no other tutorials mention to use just the original skin separately (Im new to character animation).... Thanks a lot! If this helps anyone, if you save your character in the HG interface, then add it again next to your original and then delete the clothes, it will give you the base skin as your HG model is without the boobs! Minor thing but maybe better....
Thanks for your kindness! I faced a problem after retarget animation, the shoulders transform into body, they are not rotate correct, and I can't fix it...
Greetings, I was wondering how to get Mixamo and Human Generator to work together and came across this RU-vid. Great suggestion. Thank you very much. Now, as has already been mentioned in past comments, I am encountering a problem with the arm twisting. Please let me know how to solve this problem. Best regards.
Thanks so much for the effort to find out what works, I am almost giving up on this but you are helping me to get some confidence back! Subscribed for your efforts. I do still see the notorious foot slide so that will need to be resolved, also the bends in the body seem a bit rough. Still more work to be done ... or back to laboring in Maya, or monkeying around in Daz/Iclone and never get it decent. In 1996 I started working on Poser with Daz characters into 3DS Max using Lifeforms/tru-bones BVH to retarget and mocap, then Mimic Pro for lip sync ... it was even easier then and got same results if not better, it has not gotten better in nearly 30 years! Shame on the animation industry for not developing any practical standards in this stuff or any kind of body mechanics that actually work. Everyone does their little piece of the pie but no one got it all together in any quality output. I can show you an animation I did in 2002 that is just as good as now, and much easier to do. That software has changed or no longer exists.
Happy to help, i also spent a long time trying to find solutions and this worked. There is a few things that look a bit dodgy but with good camera work im sure these errors can be hidden or with more work it can be made good. Appreciate the comment.
Thanks for the work! But I keep up ending (after retargeting) with a character which has it's arms twisted behind the back. The bone list is correct tho. Strange.
Genious solution. However, despite everything being great in viewport and render preview, when i go to render, the body object, hands feet and head, disappears, as if hidden from render. Have tried everything i could think of, with no solution. Any ideas anyone?
Resizing issue has a simple solution, while importing just change scale to 100 in size option. Everything will be fine. Human gen is a good addon but the only reason I don't like is it's poor muscle customisation. It can't even resize abs. It has option to increase muscle which is very poor ,u just look big with no 3d details in muscles. So it's only good for clothed human or lean human. But I will agree it's texture materials are of high quality
Hi there, I'm not sure why but if I retarget my main character to the imported walking fbx character, they both walk but only walk in place.. When I import the animated walking character, the position of the character moves but as soon as I retarget the position keyframes seem to not exist.. Please help
Thanks you so much. I just lost two days of my life trying to figure out Maxamo to Human Generator. Losing the will to live trying to use Rigify. Then I found you. Bless you x
Thank you for sharing this. It works! I'm glad I found it before I wasted too many more hours reinventing the wheel. May your kindness be returned a thousand fold :-)
