Hello! I'm Sarah and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I started sewing mid-way through 2020 and haven't looked back. This channel is to help document my makes and share my experiences. I also started knitting in April 2021 so there will be knitting plans and makes too.

I hope that gorgeous sweater stretches out so you can wear it - it would be so sad to have worked on that project for so long and not be able to wear it. I love the little baby cardigan. So cute! You did such a great job on the Instant Crush Sweater. I really hope it blocks out for you, but I don't think mohair is terribly helpful in these situations, sadly. I made the Whitmoor Cardigan a couple of years ago but despite swatching obsessively to get gauge, it still turned out too small. (Side note - I ALWAYS swatch. I follow all the rules. I make it big enough to actually give a good indication of what will happen in the completed garment. If it's knit in the round, I swatch in the round. Fully wet block it. If it's not right, I do it again, etc. But no matter what my swatch says, the garment ALWAYS turns out to be significantly bigger or smaller than it's supposed to. Every time.) Anyway, I made my Whitmoor with fingering and mohair held double, so it took a lot of yarn and a lot of time (and I can confirm that the DPNs on each end absolutely did my head in!) so it was such a bummer that it didn't work out how I'd hoped. I could probably wear it unbuttoned, but sadly I never do. I hope you fare better... did you swatch?? (I say, as as if it makes a difference. 😅) Oh, and please throw my name in the hat for your sweet bestie bag, I would use it as an on-the-go sock knitting pouch! 💙
I like your baby Bestie bag. I prefer a small bag to limit the amount of junk I can carry around 😂. I have some of that green floral fabric from Spotlight. I got it probably a year ago to make a long sleeve button up shirt. It’s still waiting for me to find the perfect pattern because it is so lovely I don’t want to waste it. I hope you can make your jumper fit 🤞🏻

Hopefully, you can give that beautiful jumper to family or friends if you can't get it to stretch...the colours and pattern are amazing. Oh Sarah, sorry you don’t think you would use your bag. It’s so beautiful, you sure you won’t use it??? It would go with your all black that you wear when conducting?? Oh my how heartbreaking about your beautiful jumper ! Did you do a swatch for the new one ? The bodice with elastic channels should hopefully fit well! Lovely fabrics especially the green floral and a fab bag!
Hi Debs, I DID make one for the blue cardigan! I forgot to show everyone, whoops! 😅 Should be a more successful make 🤞🏼 I LOVE the green floral, I have it washed and hanging on my line today and I think I might just start with that one...😄

I wonder if the fabric would still be available “ and then I heard you say you were going to gift it” Very generous of you and yes I would love to be in the draw. I love the Frida fabric. I love seeing your knitting projects. I am just learning how to knit, and hope I will be able to knit something as glorious as you one day! That bag is stunning! Thank you Leonie, fingers crossed! I was thrilled with that green floral fabric. I was expecting to see it was a polyester blend so when it said 100% cotton AND it was 140cm wide I just had to get it. And such a good price too! I'm excited to sew with it.
The bag is so cute, but sometimes we sew this to experiment and they don't end up working for us. Been there and so generous that you're giving it away! I recently sewed up the Daphne dress and am OBSESSED with it! It was so fun to see and really delivers. So excited to see your thoughts bw both patterns, the Gracie Steele one also looks great! Also, that cardigan 😍
Elizabeth, it was seeing your beautiful photos on the beach in your Daphne dress that inspired me to buy the pattern. You looked absolutely stunning! I'm actually now leaning towards using the green floral on that pattern, rather than the pink check... I think it could work? Decisions decisions!!
@@SoSarahSewed Thank you so much!💓 I think you'll really love it...the green floral would look so lovely and it will save you pattern matching the pink check (if that's something you care about). Plus, you can make it more midi length or even shorter which could make it even more wearable beyond frocktails! Haha, I wish I been on a beach! 😉

I'd be thrilled to win the Baby Bestie Bag. It's lovely. Actually, I'd put my knitting in it. Either that, or wear it when I go to visit my brother in the city. It would be perfect when hopping on the subway.
Wow - I’d love your mini bestie bag if I can throw my hat in the ring for it! Although I may have a battle with my daughter who I suspect may try to pinch it if I won it🤣. I admire your knitting as an outsider as I don’t knit. Shame that jumper doesn’t fit as it’s gorgeous so I hope it finds a home too 😊

You have quite the Frocktails dilemma! The circle skirt would be gorgeous, but the Jane Austen dress! Either one would be swoon-worthy. The sweater is beautiful... if only you had a niece who's already an adolescent and could wear the sweater and use the bestie bag! The baby cardi is too precious... love your taste.
Hi Peg! I do actually have a couple of older nieces as well as my little ones... One is 16 and the other 14... it COULD fit the 14 year old but I'm not sure it's her style. I'll ask her. I would love her to wear it if she wants it!

Hi sarah, such a shame about your jumper, hope you can salvage it. The Style arc Armidale shirt dress only takes 2.5 m of 148cm fabric. I would love to be in the draw for your baby bestie, it looks so cute. Hope you get more sewing time this week. ❤
Thank you Jeni! I will look at that pattern! I think I actually only 2.25m of the fabric come to think of it, but being quite short I usually don't need as much length as patterns say anyway. I'll enter you in the draw!
You sweater/jumper is absolutely gorgeous! Would it be possible to take it to a professional cleaner for blocking to your size? Maybe I’m ever the optimist, but it is so sad that it is not fitting ! Oooh and your blue shirt is adorable on you! The color really sings! ❤❤ Suzanne
Argh it's my own fault. 😭 Lesson learned!! Thank you for your comment about my new shirt! I am excited to wear this more as the weather warms up. It's a lovely light fabric and I love the colour too!

Wow I absolutely love all your makes! They look fabulous & are all so practical. You have motivated me to check out the different fabric suppliers as it is hard to find unusual fabrics, as well as making some of those patterns.
