thanks for the vid... i did my install and cant get it to go out of green non charge mode going into my power stations even playing around with cables and the dial. also is the blue led on the power button stay on even with the engine off? mine does...
Yes, I' hoped for more, but I really don't know if that is a function of the charger or possibly of my alternator. The alternator that came with the 2000 Tundra is a bit wimpy by today's standards, so I have wondered if that might be contributing to this issue.
This is my first video I've seen of yours. I do similar camping, very basic. For the past 20 years, each October i spend a week in the Big Bend National Park. The main reasons are ones you can relate to. The silence is amazing in such remote places. No highway noise. Usually not any other people around at all. I use a tent, but with weather, I'll sleep in my vehicle. I don't have a dog unfortunately, mans best friend after all. When I have a girlfriend who likes camping, I have company. But usually I am solo, and I love it. I'll do hiking, for sure. But I really like just sitting in a camp chair with a cocktail and soak in the natural beauty and silence. And the Milky Way.
Sure thing... that's a disc of aluminum (not sure of the thickness) that I cut to size on a plasma cutter. Then I drilled about 25 holes through it, and countersunk the holes to remove any edge burrs. It works great for simmering. Thanks for watching!
Hi Sir. Sorry for what you are going through. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer back in April of this year. I’m working on getting my truck ready to start camping early next year. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos for tips on truck bed camping. Take care
Best of health to you.Glad you're recovering so well, a friend from Texas. Also digging that stove you used. Will get one soon add to my collection of camping stove. Have a thing for them...Thanks
Eastern montana is the same. So much dead grass. If you dont mind me askin, what do you do for work? You said you work remotely, and caught my attention. I rode my bike to glacier this summer. Its incredible.
I'm an adjunct professor - i work for five different schools. The upside is it leaves me very flexible, the downside is I need signal to work, and I like to camp in remote spots. :)
Second video of yours I’ve watched. Eventually I’m sure I’ll watch’em all. Love the laid back style and the scenery. I’ve all ready been looking into your stove setup after seeing it in your Montana trip video. I’ve got well over a dozen different stoves for car camping and backpacking. I need this stove in my inventory. Thanks again for taking us along. Surely you carry concealed, by yourself in the middle of nowhere it makes good sense to do so. Enjoyed this a lot. Greetings again from North Missouri
So glad you like the vids! I started doing them just as a sort of journal - I figured I'd forget the individual trips and my friend suggested filming them. I never guessed anyone would watch them except for a few friends. I do normally have a firearm or two with me, depends on the trip. In Alaska we were armed to the teeth and Canadian customs detained us for a while. :)
Thanks for sharing your trip. I enjoyed the hell out of it. The “mediocre cooking” was right up my alley. That’s my style, nothing fancy just good food. I got to look into that stove setup. What camp table is that? Once again thanks for sharing. I’m in North Missouri so anything that isn’t a farm field is interesting to me😀.
Thanks! The camp table is the "CampLand Aluminum Table" which is currently $59 on Amazon. The table is great, the bag it comes in stinks (cheap zippers). The stove is a Trangia, which is super popular in northern Europe but not so much here.
I didn’t realize this video mostly consisted of mediocre basic cooking. Also, please don’t feed any wildlife no matter how small and cute you may think they are.
These videos are my own journal of the trip, so I include the things that I am interested in and that I enjoyed. I’m sure yours would’ve been different.
@@danschilltrips7401We are actually from Three Forks, and it is expensive there as well. It would blow you away if you knew how many celebrities lived around there.. Bozeman is just a mess anymore. Not the Montana I grew up in! See Ya
@@kenuber4014 It's a Trangia, which is popular in Europe but not in the US. I think it's the perfect overlanding rig. I like it so much that I created a channel just to show the stove in action, called "Dan's Trangia Food Adventures." :)
I like to make a marinade for ribeye Italian dressing honey brownsugar salt pepper mustard and anything else you can think of. Grill gives a nice crusty goodness. Loving your vid, I am subscribing.
Oh my. Those look like the sand spurs we get in Florida. Most developed areas have had them eradicated. They are painful! Now they may call them something else there. 😊
