God Bless You Mike. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I attended over 250 TPHB shows in clouding the last on on 9/25/17. I lived down the street from Tom and Dana and to this day I’m still broken by his passing. God Bless You Brother. Todd
Noticed that he totally F’s up the lyrics. Which he said he would. But it’s like he pulls the most desperately great parts of the lyrics that he sings. I think that made sense
It looks like someone else misses Tom too. Seeing the band play the last Saturday night at Hollywood Bowl was awesome and thought wouldn't it be great to see them again. Like Mike, I miss him too.
You can hear the tears through his guitar! I Loved Tom Petty! Mike is so beautiful and such a great friend! Just saw them in Pittsburgh. Amazing band! Thank you 🙏
Something Good Coming is one of the greatest songs ever. Its so underrated. Just an amazing vocal and lyric. The vibe puts me in such a great hopeful place. Tom was the greatest songwriter ever in my opinion. Love that Mike played that one.
Well DAY-UM!! I happened upon this when the # of comments was 420. How appropriate! 😘✌🏼 I hated to change it but want to thank Mike & TDK for this awesome, moving tribute. It IS healing (and I’m just an ordinary fan from the late 70’s) but I took Tom’s passing as if it were a beloved family member. Amazing how much he touched so many lives ✌🏼❤️ thank you, good people, for continuing to share your talent with us. That kicked ass!! 🎸 🔥
AMAZING. The bending and note drop at 12:01 is amazing. The most underrated guitarist ever. Think about it. Tom was filing for bankruptcy while making Damn The Torpedoes and all of the sudden, MIKE drops REFUGEE and Here Comes My Girl into Toms lap! BOOM!!!
Hi Mike great stuff. By complete coincidence my band and I recorded a basement version of us doing “Running down a dream” last weekend. Can I either post it or send it to you (if you’re reading this. With love and respect - David
New comment. He has a new song with the Dirty Knobs in 2022 that has a little of the Heartbreakers and Traveling Willburys in it. Go listen to Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs - Wicked Mind. It is a nice rocking song they came up with that sounds a lot like some of the stuff he did with Tom Petty.
