@@jihamod5374 keep scrolling. People correct that poster. All rivets on wing sunk and filled with primer then sanded smooth. That's why mustangs had such great speed and range. Laminar flow wing. The fuselage had rivets tho.

You are correct, that 'Sinai Grey' does look a bit 'green'. But I think it gives it a "unique" weathered look. MayBe add a primer coat, Just not sure which one or Color I would use? This is a Luftwaffe(German Air Force) anti-aircraft crew. The designated color for the Luftwaffe uniform is Field Blue(tamiya XF-50). However, since I do't have XF-50, I use it to mixing colors it, so it may be different from XF-50. Thank you!
It is good to see this. Col. Jim Thompson was my ROTC instructor and Commanding Officer in high school. I was there the day he arrived on campus. He was a total, freaking badass of a man: gruff, stern, and demanding. I really looked up to him. He started at Holmes High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1980, replacing LTC James C. Embry, who founded our Squadron the previous year. I really liked LTC Embry, too, but Thompson was the first person I had ever met who had a Monogram model of his plane for sale. The guy was famous in those circles. My Grandfather was a B-24 pilot in Italy in WWII, and he stayed in the USAF for 34 years, retiring in 1976. He knew who Thompson was and told me we were lucky to have him as our instructor. Grandpa was right. Regarding this model, the old Monogram kit was very decent, but I like this Academy kit. I never built Academy models as a kid. Did this company exist in the 1970s and 1980s? Good job! I love seeing Col. Thompson's plane remembered today. I hope you look him up and learn about where the dragon came from. He told me once in his office. It was a great story!
@@jihamod5374 Here is a little bit of it. The North Korean top ace at that time had a spectacular green dragon on his MiG 15 and he was very well known in the South for his skills, and the dragon marked him out, as the Red Baron's distinctive plane set him apart. Col Thompson shot him down. I think his crew chief painted the dragon on his plane as a sort of celebratory gesture. (It was a very big deal to have downed this enemy pilot.) I think the name "THE HUFF" was for the pane itself, but he became known by it. I think it may have become his new call sign. I can't really remember. But the shootdown was a fairly epic battle, I think. It was not only artwork worthy of a model, but history worthy of it, too. It is good to know that my old teacher is still remembered as a hero in South Korea. I hope for the best for the Korean people because Kim Jong-Un is pretty a pretty loose cannon.
@@holton345 I was looking for green dragons through an internet search. I was just doing a nice nose art, and it's really interesting to have a story like this. The present South Korea exists because of the sacrifice of many heroes. We thank them for their sacrifice, and we will continue to protect them. Thank you!
