What a mess! Good job working around the junk. Can you comment on your setup for truck and trailer. What brand of trailer and weight rating. I can't tell if you have a 3500 or 2500 size truck. Does your setup require a CDL? Thanks for the content.
Thanks, there was a minefield of debris! Ram 2500 & JobSite Trailer, it needs improvement in some areas. I’ll probably make a video tweaking things on it. Check out this video, it should answer most of your other questions: Buying a NEW tilt-deck trailer for the 2024 Kubota SVL 75-3 Forestry Mulching setup ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1M4C_HBgnFg.html
It depends on your area. Hiring a legitimate forestry mulching company to bring a track loader out will typically cost around 1800-2500 for an 8hr day. Some companies only quote by the job, some by the hour and some by the day. Good luck!
I have the 75-2 and turning left or right on anything not flat the machine doesn’t move. Is that what you mean by automatically down shifting on turning ?
@@pr4lviper They are technically optional, but when I ordered mine, the only thing the dealers were buying and stocking were the high flows with all the bells and whistles. But that was last year, you might be able to get something with less options now.
Pretty nice option to have. Regarding your "RU-vid skills" I'm curious what camera you use? I find the GoPro Hero 12 has a shorter than desired battery life leaving me unable to get what I want out of it. The overheating issues trying to record in 4k all but requiring I take the battery out completely, using a passthrough door not being useful when recording while connected to my machines USB port for external power I just feel like it severely under performs based on my expectations from their listed features on the websites. Just wondering if you've found a better option for what to use. I too am working on my "RU-vid skills" (this is not the acct I upload these videos with as I don't want to advertise on someone elses channel).
I just use the cheap AKASO Brave 7LE action cameras. Battery life isn’t the best in 4k, like all others, but no overheating issues so far. However, you can get extra sets of batteries and another charger for under $20! Also has port for charging which is what I use in the cab. I used an iPhone 15 on the trailer video, which would be my first choice but I don’t want to risk setting it up on a tripod and damaging it.
@@BrushCommando Thanks for the suggestion, That Camera is certainly much more affordable and cheap batteries/charger are a great option to have. I'll give it a look and see if I have better luck with it! Sound plan, I don't think I'd put a phone on a tripod for this sort of work either.
I’m interested in knowing. With the 75-3, where the air flows out on each side, does it blow debris away from the lift arm cavity on each side? How much debris is going into the engine bay from those two access points? Can you please post some photos after a mulch job? Thanks in advance
So far not much material has made it down there that a blower couldn’t blow right out. The air blowing out of those vents does seem to keep debris out. I’ll make a video and include showing that area after a mulch job for you. They do make a “mast cover” that seals it off but it’s expensive.
Awesome! A forestry door was put on when I bought it. Those are nice guards and expensive… maybe they’ll send me some. lol! A coupler guard should’ve been standard on these.
Have a -3 and was looking at one of these. Bought a virig brush hog, but it is really heavy when trying to get up higher. How is it lifting the battle ax up high?
niceee, I'm on the search for a 75-3 or a 97 but down in the Florida area none can be found, so might be searching up North a bit to see. And have similar thinking as you, that prices of used machine plus the chances of landing someone else problems for a business, don't see it that smart if you have the option for a new one. Thanks for the vid,!
Good question. I’ve never bought new equipment before, I typically buy auction equipment and fix it up. With the prices of equipment nowadays, used is close to the costs of new. Then you have to be hopeful that you’re not buying someone else’s problem… been there done that. So, new is what I went for and it’s best to have reliable equipment to run a profitable business. You don’t make money working on broke things. As for the Mulcher, it’s matched to the machine basically, there are specific GPM ranges that each mulcher is designed for, so buying a used mulcher can be difficult to do. Thanks for the question and for watching
Hey, Thanks a lot! The little 75s are great, not too big, not too small. I completely forgot to set the parking brake and realized it when I was loading but the show must go on. lol Chocking the trailer tires isn’t a bad idea for extra precaution. Glad you enjoy the videos.
It may be uneven ground but it looks like the trailer is a bit high in the front. That will load the rear trailer tires more than the front. Nice setup. Where abouts are you located?
@@firstname6208 South of Raleigh, North Carolina. That was the first time loading the skid steer on the trailer and I expected it to squat the front a little more than it did. Going to need to drop the air bags in the truck a little.
I have the same machine with a Shearex mulching head. I have 52 hours on mine and I love it. They did a good job with this machine. I had a 75-2 previously and had zero issues with it. The changes they made just make this an awesome machine. Kubota does make a boot kit to cover the openings around the vertical cylinders that utilize the holes you pointed out early in the video. They keep all that material from getting down in the engine bay.
Glad to hear you’re happy with it so far, they’re very nice machines. I’m patiently waiting for the larger sizes (95,97) to move on to the -3 revision. The dealer here can’t seem to find the boot kit. Do you have a part number by chance?

If you do I can take my time and figure out how many of what sizes I need. Also if you will make them I need a idea what one shim would cost for a 2" pin that way I could get a idea roughly how much it would cost to shim the machine. Thank u
I used these on an older Cat 315L that had welded pins, these shims popped right in and made everything tight and quiet. I’m really pleased with how well they work and they seem to seal the grease in the pin area longer.
Modified Teflon Polymer - I typically sell them on eBay but they’re on back order now due to demand. What size(s) are you interested in and how many? Please feel free to send an email: GillespieFarmandTimber@gmail.com
We can make any size if you have a bulk order 100+/pcs, there is typically a 3 week lead time for custom sizes. Pricing is discounted for large orders, shipping is included which is typically 25% of the cost. The 80mm should be able to accommodate 85mm as well, as they are flexible. It won’t be a grease sealed fit but it will fill the void to prevent slop. Thank you for your interest.
@@BrandonDrew87yes, I run them in my equipment, Chris/LetsDig18 and another one of his buddies have some, just to name a few. They last a long time, haven’t replaced or broken one yet and if it does wear or break they’re stupid simple to replace.
