How did you gain access? I’m thinking about gaining access to alligator slough preserve. Gonna use a go pro for a couple months and document the area.

I had permission from the landowners and permission from Dallas County.

When I was a child in the 1950s, Texas Water Moccasins were very common in north Texas.

I hear them outside my window a lot. I used to mostly hear males, but I've recently heard a female, too. I've also, quite embarrassingly, heard a couple of them doing "things". 😳

I am wondering if hawk kills the squirrel before eating eat(like suffocate)? Or he just grabs it firmly and eats it alive?

I'm also shocked. We have one in our neighborhood (or a few if it isn't the same one we keep seeing) and I fell in love with this heron. It's like Florida's own penguin. I always thought of it as a benign little dude but after seeing this video, I think I've begged off the idea of going full St. Francis of Assisi.

What you see in that water is a result of a City full of trashy scumbags and a city government who does nothing but ignore the problems such as this one. Well this was 7 years ago it's probably seven times worse than that by now there is a way to clean out the rivers but they don't want to do nothing about it
