Congratulations on your rotator. Eventually, I will return to development of the W5AIR Rotator. I've been developing a CNC router for the purpose of cutting parts into aluminum. I have a lot of problems to overcome with the rotator. But, at least it works with PST Rotator. I chose to go with the protocol from AMSAT which seems to work. ru-vid.com-sBmOeE3ByU

In order to compress the sawdust a huge pressure and 100 degree temperature is necessary. I am 100% sure that can not work.

I love this, so impressive. I have been thinking about a similar design but all my ideas failed the over-complexity test. This is a tremendous reductionist design. I intend to make a larger version and use the wood pellets in a gravity fed forced induction water heater for a pool.

Mentre nel tritacarne no. Cosa ne pensi?

hey if you see my comment and are curious in buying something like this I'm interested what you would pay for something a bit more complete, (don't get me wrong this is awesome) but I'm thinking of making a all in one thing like having the grinder and pellet maker all in one, so you just chuck your log/sticks (which you would have to test for moisture first think it's 5-10%). because where i have made a lot of charcoal before and i find my local wood the best by far (mallee wood) but no one sells it in pellet form. I will be making one for my self to test if it is applicable with mallee wood works well with my Traeger.

Can you share the purpose of the project?
@swedishinventor
@swedishinventor 2 года назад
Sure. I needed to produce a small amount of pellets in a certain material as cheap as possible, for a prototyping stage. It did its job well costing less than $200, but now the machine is chopped up and the parts used for other projects =)

really nice .... congratulations. but ...... the antenna must be mounted with vertical polarization for the satellites, while now it is mounted with horizontal polarization .. you have to mount it rotated 90 degrees and it does not need to drop below 0 degrees of elevation. Congratulations again.

Everything in the store is discontinued.....whats going on?
@swedishinventor
@swedishinventor 2 года назад
Thats correct, the MK1 has been discontinued. The first version had too many missing features that impacted the demand, and a sensitive design that made it a bit error-prone . If I get time on my hands in the future I might make a new version. But all the files and documentation are open source and available at satran.io so feel free to build your own!

This is awesome, and exactly what I have been looking for. Any idea if it would carry the common arrow sat antenna, if counterbalanced? If so, there are a ton of those antennas out there, including me!
@swedishinventor
@swedishinventor 3 года назад
The weight should be fine, just not quite certain on how to best mount it. Perhaps somewhere in the middle of the antenna and tilt it 45 degrees so the elements dont get hung up on the base. So be sure to tell all your friends, I'm working hard to get the next batch ready for sale...

Looks good, but it seems that it won't track polar orbiting satellites without doing something like astronomers call a "meridian flip" as the satellite passes overhead.
@swedishinventor
@swedishinventor 3 года назад
Correct, at the moment the app does not have this functionality however the rotator can be controlled over HTTP and I hope and strive for other software packages to develop drivers to allow controlling of a satran also. Also the app is constantly under development, and a new much more advanced version is also on the drawing board...

Hey. Nice project. Q a): The antenna you're using here is a 70cm band antenna. Will it be stable enough to hold an 2m band yagi? b): Where can I buy the pcb where I have to solder the ESP8266 on? I want to print all the parts myself. But I need the PCb. Right? Or: Where can I find the controll board schematics?
@swedishinventor
@swedishinventor 3 года назад
Possibly, if you fasten the antenna in the middle to make it quite balanced and have a mount that allows for such a large array. Also fine tuning the stepper drivers can give more torque but might require heatsinks and a better power supply. Both kits and complete controller boards (including nodemcu and 2x stepper drivers) will be available for purchase from my website.
