Man thank you for that. I have a whirlpool WHEZLJ1 and they look the same brand new unit but while in clean mode or regeneration mode the cam and gear and motor keeps going on and off and water keeps discharging already replaced the control board maybe they need to send me a complete valve body. Checking with warranty now.
@@BenjaminHansen I just had one do a crazy thing when you turn the lights on all the emt and armor cable and steel boxes would electrify and get power about a little over half power and would zap you If touched and all goes away with lights off...
@@BenjaminHansen I tested it with a tester removed the lights and still with switch on and no lights would electrify everything then I tested the switch each terminal and the ground wire was having power backfeed into it and electricity to the emt so I disconnected the ground wire and problem fixed, switch is still grounded to the steel box as well. I was happy with my find, still not sure why, ate Lefsa butter and sugar afterwards.
Just bought a Toro 824 Power thrower from some unscrupulous fellows. Saw it run in 5th gear didn't check the rest. It goes into gear as far as the shifter up top however there is zero power 1-4. Would that be more of a transmission thing rather than the drive wheel being seized? Thanks
For those of you who think it's a switch loop, it's not. A switch loop to a lamp will have 6 wires meeting at the load. 2 green (or bare copper), 2 white, and 2 black. 3 wires coming from the switch and 3 wires from supply. At the load the white wire from supply gets attached to the lamp, the black wire from supply get twisted together with the white wire from the switch and a wire nut on them, both greens and a green pigtail get twisted together and a wire nut on them. The other end of the green pigtail gets screwed to the metal junction box. The black wire from the switch gets attached to lamp. At the switch, the white wire goes on one terminal and the black goes on the other terminal. Black tape or black paint should be put on both ends of the white wire used between the switch and lamp to clearly show it's a hot wire. Enough black tape or black paint should be used so it's readily and easily visible.
I dont like switch loops. Although they work, i think the potential risk is there. Its not a code violation. Its a Personal preference of the wiring method. In theory, with the switch off, voltage still exists at the light, change the light bulb and your body could become the path to ground completing the circuit. Only if the right conditions Occur.
@BenjaminHansen honestly i wouldn't worry about change. Dont fix it if it works. I would only change the box make up at the switch. Pig tail your neutral wires down. Its just ugly having a 3 inch jumper wire. But its fine the way it is. You spotted a odd function of the window maker/volt tester. Its justva learning experience of how things work.
I did pretty much the same. Except I installed the button on the other side of the actuator housing. There was nothing there at all, and I made it face the window. Your fingers will fit with plenty of room between the button and the glass. Totally hidden
I was kind of worried items stuffed in the back may hit it and open the window, but I have had it stuffed with gear whe overlanding and it worked out just fine.
Give them some heat with a torch and use some fishing pliers like dr.meters pliers they have a tooth on the tip that is ideal for this application. Place the tooth under the seal and you can stick a screw driver through the hole of the pliers to torque if you need extra force they come off nice and obediently 😅.
Well, without going out to measure it, the platform is probably a total of 8" off the floor. So subtract that from the total height. I would think it would be close to 3'.
And it was at this moment I learned something new today, I didn’t know that was switch operated but now I do! I have the same year cherokee and have been building it for some Overlanding. I have already built my bed platform along with a drawer system including a built in stove/bbq and wired up the rear PowerPoint with a usb charging hub. I’ve been trying to figure out an emergency exit in case of fire while I’m sleeping, your switch idea just cleared that up for me, I already have switches so I guess I better get after it today and be done with it! Thanks Mr!!!
Gonna need a breaker bar, and maybe a cheater pipe , come in through where your camera is seeing and use gravity to loosen it then come back with the impact once it's broken loose.
Yep that is what I ended up doing. I first broke two ½ breaker bars attached to the "Honda tool" that holds the harmonic balancer/pully. I then purchased a Harbor Freight's Icon brand ½ breaker and put it on the "Honda tool" and used a ¾" 19mm socket and a ¾" breaker bar with cheater pipe on the bolt and it broke loose. Whew!
Maybe clean up what you can with a wire brush or wire wheel and then spray it with penetrant like PB Blaster and tap it back and forth with a hammer. Spray it again and let it sit for a day. Repeat until it loosens up for you. Then it will be ready for next year. Good luck!
@@BenjaminHansen thank you for quick response. I appreciate...I tryed spreying, even left couple of days soaking with bluster fluid in and around...I took everything appart...torched hot and tryed with hammer...nothing.I think the only thing is left to do is to get a new hex bar,if I can find one, and the whole assy that slides...This thing seated dry for a very long time,my guess. It is literally welded.Uh. It is Murray 24/8 with Tacumseth engine.Very strong.
That is a good idea, but there really is no room for a noodle. Eventually it will rub through the vinyl seat. A few options would be to adhere a very thin piece of lexan to protect the seat. Or cover any vinyl wear with a piece of black tape. Or just leave it, which I did.
Anyone know if it goes into reverse but NOT forward? I don't have any forward gears. Happened all the sudden. Yet I have reverse. Never messed with it before
It is usually just a piece sliding back and forth along a rod/bar. Something is holding it up and keeping it from moving for you. Take the lower inspection panel off and see how it looks. It may be a simple fix.
5'7". My buddy is taller. He put a 2" riser in his. He also mentioned there is a way to move the pedal further away but I am not sure how that is done.
I don't know. I took them out long ago as it is just the wife and I with no other passengers. Flip yours up and see if they sit about 7" above the rest of the back floor.
Thanks very much for the video. Almost exactly the same thing was wrong with mine, and I wouldn't have known how simple it was to fix without your help Mine, the hexagonal shaft wouldn't rotate even with the clutch wheel not touching the drive wheel. Same cure, pb blaster and a little time . Took me about an hour, including watching the video. Thanks again!
Thanks for answering.👍 Interesting that you mention that you ..."still keep the tire iron and jack under the rear seat." On my 03' WJ, only the screw-jack's 'crank handle' and tire iron, are stowed under rear seat on the passenger side and the jack itself is secured under the full-size spare and all those are in the stock OEM configuration. Also, I am not sure what you meant by; ..." drive the vehicle with the platform down." Why is it so that you don't(?) drive with the platform down? Could you please tell us what you mean, on that?
I don't drive with the platform down because the front seats are all the way forward and seat backs all the way upright. It is extremely cramped and probably unsafe to drive. If make the bed/platform 2" shorter, I would probably be ok.
