I'm from Vicenza and the average attendance is about 8000. You can find other good averages for Cesena (+9000), Foggia (7000) and this year Catanzaro (10000). Messina unfortunately less than 4000, as well as Triestina. In many Italian cities football has been abandoned and people go to the stadium only if the team is performing well (we call them "occasionali", casual).
The state of these arenas shock me almost.. i am originally from the Netherlands where many stadiums are rather new. One reason is they use the arenas for daycare, small police stations or shops and local government invests in them. I dont mind older arenas but Italy is very extreme. I guess most people watch football on tv since i heard you have good tv deals ?
Well the main reasons of having very old stadiums are bureaucracy and political interests. The extreme majority of the stadiums in Italy are not of the club property, but of the mayors, and when there are plans of restayling or build a new stadium managers have to get their agree.
Hello! Why did you remove some of your old videos? I really enjoyed them, especially the ones about the italian lower leagues, about the most loyal fans etc! :)
