Is the sound coming from a DI or an amp/cab? I find the b3k and vintage the most versatile with ao being best for heavy distortion. I think the x7 is clearly a better version from the regular x with the extra compression and eq. edit: I just saw the signal chain in the video
My preference go to the Microtube. It seems more versatile. As for an extreme distored sound I would go to the Alpha omicron. Thank you for this great demo.
Recently bought the 5-string in cerulean burst, and holy shiatsu what an instrument. Never tried any other bass that feels as easy to play as this one.
That’s why I’m leary about Harley Benton. Not because of the quality; it’s because of QC. I’m afraid to pull the plug and the bass comes to me damaged. That’s my gripe! The craftsmanship looks stunning, but is the quality control up to par? 😕🎶🎸👍🏾
BUYER BEWARE: do NOT get the AP-5 in candy apple red. The whole production line seems to be a lemon. Basically, it is difficult to find a model where the BEA strings are centered on the upper split coil pickup. The black and blue versions of the AP-5 do have it centered, however. Wish I got the AP-4 instead!!
I have this effects unit and really like it. I have about 12 user presets that I created so far including a phaser, flanger, auto wah, overdrive, fat clean sound, octaver and chorus. It is very versatile because you can save multiple effects together in user patches (36 total) and there are 36 preset patches so you can have many different sounds. There are 61 different effects to choose from so you can really go for it and be creative. The wah/expression pedal is a nice addition as you can control about 10 different things with it. Get the wireless Bluetooth adaptor and you can listen to music and play along. Use the software on your phone, tablet or computer if you want to use that interface, or just start turning knobs as you play to see what you like if you like the feeling of knobs on the traditional pedals. Big thumbs up Boss, you got it right with this one.
I hope this aint a dumb question but....... What does everyone think about the P bass slap sound? I personally don't like its slap sound; I think it has too much bark and dullness to it imo. But I'm curious to see what other folks think about it, and cross check my own views for accuracy. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the fingerstyle P bass to death; I don't think anything does warm, deep tones like it can. But I think the slap tone could be spruced up a tad.
