Thanks! I just got this gun and was worried when the safety and the firing pin FELL OUT (it wasn’t the fins fault, I was teaching my teenage son the workings of a gun before I got him one)
You didn't mention after you lost the spring that it has an specific way, you can't just put the spring back; both ends are different. If you put the spring backwards, the slide won't go back all the way after a shot
Just cleaned my Sig 938 after firing for the first time. I had it reassembled except for that tab near the hammer, which I believe is a part of the trigger mechanism. Your video cleared that up for me. Thank you so much for that. And, you are absolutely right about that spring, it is a royal pain in the ass! Thanks again. JH
My sig p365 spectre comp with a light, red dot, and 13+1 shots weighs over 2lbs. Been thinking about switching from 9 to 10. I had a glock 20 years ago and it was one of my favorites.. also the g29 has almost the exact same weight and size as the hk usp 9 compact
Thank you! The instruction manual did a HORRIBLE job of explaining how to disassemble this. They didn’t even mention the pin on the other side! I would have never figured this out without RU-vid.
In my humble opinion, the best gun is the gun you have with you in times of need! Your 1911 or SW 642 is no use to you if you don't have it when needed.
I got my cw380 for over 5 years now. Spring will get easier with usage. To remove slide, try using a reverse grip, holding the slide and grip with your thumb and index finger only. Use a punch or screwdriver to push out the slide stop/release. I highly recommend the cw380 for it's compact design and ease of carry.
Thanks for the info. I was dumbfounded on putting it back together due to the force necessary. I was thinking about a gunsmith until now. Doe it have a hammer release safety? Just want to be sure. Thanks again.
I’ve got the full-size 9mm and it is amazingly smooth. In contrast, I’ve got 2 PX4 subcompacts and they kick like donkeys and have different personalities
Nice. I have mine in a very similar setup too, Pierce extension, night sights, etc. I put a heavier 20 lbs guide spring to help with the recoil. I didn't like the mag wobble that was caused by the grip extensions so I put in the mag well cavity plug so the magazines are more stable when gripping the gun.
@jackshanahan6754 It's a mag well plug. It just fills in that hole in the grip behind where the magazine sits. Since the extended mags tend to move when you grip the gun, the plug helps with movement and helps prevent a malfunction caused by the magazine being gripped during shooting. I use a slightly heavier recoil spring because it's better with recoil with hot ammo. Only downside is that it's bad for ammo that's light in weight and can cause failures to feed. I just swap springs if I'm just shooting range ammo. I keep the heavier 20 lbs spring for hot self defense loads. The spring I bought is a galloway precision recoil spring. Pretty reasonable price and it works.
I believe most hand guns have firing pin blocks. I remember colt added them in their series 80. I think the ruger 1911 might not. Last I hear, they have a 70 series design but went with an almost weightless titanium firing pin that won't slam forward on a drop. Not 100% sure!
The 92 is 9mm only, so it makes sense that these 40 cal mags are not compatible. The mags for the PX4 in 9mm are, from what I remember, compatible with the 92.
I have a full size in each caliber. I’ll buy a compact if I ever stumble across a good deal. I like to put talon grips on my firearms. They help solve the smoothness of the grip sides. Initially I was not in love with the looks of this model. But I’ve grown to appreciate its styling.
