Yes! It’s the 16gb 8-core cpu, 7-core gpu. It’s perfect for travelling about. I’ve had it running docker containers, ios simulators, browsers and all sorts and it’s never skipped a beat!
hey, so a couple of reason. 1 being I knew react so it was a shorter learning curve using react native. React native also allows me to develop for IOS and Android at the same time. Otherwise I would have to create a swift version for IOS and a Kotlin version for Android!
@@Ro-codes thank you for letting me know. I always heard that companies use swift or kotlin. Do you know if react native is popular in the mid or big companies? I know is popular ofc but i don’t know about the real use in the real business world you know
It’s pretty popular yes, really depends what you want to do. If companies can afford it they have 2 fully native teams. But react native can save dev time and money. For solo devs it’s great
Hey RO, I am building a community site for indie hackers, solopreneurs, and entrepreneurs (especially solopreneurs). So, I am thinking of collaborating with some of these entrepreneurs and solopreneurs to learn from them, get to know their opinions and learn from their expertise. We can do a podcast-like thing or even a live talk on youtube or linkedin. What do you think?
@@Ro-codes RIP, I rebel from mainstream langs, learning Svelte now as cant stand React. Better chances landing a job using less used languages as there is less competition and not following the heard is a +.
I get that to a point but to be honest I learn what I need to for work, happy to use the best tool for the job. Also it can’t hurt to use in demand languages…
@@Ro-codes Well true as well but if there is higher demand then there is higher competition. Got few freelancing gigs due to knowing Vue for Nuxtjs. In the board there where only ppl knowing Reaxt/Next and React Native what gave me an upper hand. It's still a coin toss though. Higher in demand equals more competition, lower in demand less options but less competition.
I can help you with whatever you need in react native development without compensation. What I want is to learn English :) message translated in google translator
A Brit in Canada? Hello from a Brit in Kentucky. I resonate quite a lot with you and where you're at in your dev journey for your project: I'm also working on a new project (web bases, so NextJS/React, rather than native). Networking is so important, yet I prefer my own company 😆 Enjoyed your video sir, I hope you maintain the motivation to complete the project, just like I hope I do too!
Yes! Ha love that, hello from Vancouver! I totally get that. I had to push myself to network but it’s with it! Thank you, I’m sure you will! You got this
Looking forward to using this Ronan. Looks as though it will be very useful for recording my travels and thoughts at a point in time, that I can then reflect on when pulling the journey together at a later date. Great stuff 😊
