Welcome! This first episode follows the process of building my app React Native app and checking out vancouver start up week. The next few episodes will be diving into code and focus more on the technical side! Music from Epidemic Sound
A Brit in Canada? Hello from a Brit in Kentucky. I resonate quite a lot with you and where you're at in your dev journey for your project: I'm also working on a new project (web bases, so NextJS/React, rather than native). Networking is so important, yet I prefer my own company 😆 Enjoyed your video sir, I hope you maintain the motivation to complete the project, just like I hope I do too!
Yes! Ha love that, hello from Vancouver! I totally get that. I had to push myself to network but it’s with it! Thank you, I’m sure you will! You got this
Great video and chill vibes! What do you use for backend node js or something simpler like firebase. I was thinking of connecting to a Django server via endpoints
Wow... definitely loved this vlog. Im doign React Native and been struggling to get started working on my idea and this isna great boost. Would definitely love to have a chat sometime. You're an inspiration.
Great question! I can’t speak for flutter as I haven’t used it but really like react native coming from a React background. Honestly, try both, the language and framework doesn’t matter as much as the idea and motivation
If you're already a js / mern developer then go for React native. Otherwise there are many ways to build apps [ assembly ] 😂 kidding , if you're starting with only UI go for react native. Otherwise kotlin / objective c , for more advanced options . I don't recommend to learn a new programming language and framework just for UI 😅
Great vid! Background music is quite loud btw. I like to decrease music by 5 db and increase voice by 5-10db. It depends though, best if you let someone else preview before posting
Hey Ro your videos really looks interesting and what do you suggest I am 16 I am focusing on solopreneurship and on my current project and i know how failure feels as i have experienced couple of time and my high school is going to start next month which is like 8:30am - 5pm I like to learn but some specific things and not for marks what should i do and also tell how to make videos like you and how to start yt.
Hey, failure is part of the process for sure! I've failed more times than I can count, just got to keep on going! I would learn something then try and put it into practice, don't just get stuck doing tutorials, go out and build something yourself. In regards to the videos I have no idea, this is my first time doing this! Again, just go and do it, learn along the way, main thing is to do and get hands on.
Hey there, its so exciting to see but I need to know one thing why don't you hire a developer , as they would work for you for $30k/year . and you will get plenty of time creating it. let me know your thoughts
Love your video and i wish you best of luck for the future videos :) But can you please turn off the music in your next videos? The music is loud and annoying. Thank you :)
thanks for sharing your learnings dude. Here are some of my feedbacks to improve the content: - Background music is too annoying and loud (use it only when you're not talking) - Focus more on the CS side of the videos compared to day in the life kinda content - Add a subtitle to your videos (see Jacob Sucks at Code) - Make your videos shorter
@@Ro-codes And it's a lav mic… I don't understand why so many think it's made to be handheld. I liked the length tho. and please don't force subtitles on us!
@@Ro-codes Ah, it's fine. Guess that is undoubtedly the reason most people do it. ;) Aside from that, you will never be able to please everyone. Looking good so far, just find your schedule and try to be consistent. That appears to be the most important for the YT-algo.
Hi mate, I am also building an app with React Native (basically learning ) and I need help. How can I contact you maybe we can have a chat and help me (please)
